Wouldn't the Suns want to use a 1st on something else given they have Bledsoe and Dragic?

I think they'd take him to be a backup and spark plug with the 27th. Also, if they take him and are confident he can play serious minutes early, they could trade either Bledsoe or Dragic in a blockbuster (ie Kevin Love).

I still say Bazz is a solid fit in NYC.. Knicks need a PG who doesn't shy away from the spotlight....He has that kind of ability....

The Knicks need a hell of a lot more than that. It would absolutely suck if Bazz fell to the second round where NY could probably buy a slot.

He would hit SO many big shots if he played on Miami

I think if he's on the board when Miami picks they'll take him. Depends on if they settle Chalmers/Norris Cole before the draft, because I think both may be free agents, but Miami is literally a perfect spot for him.

Imagine the shot clock winding down and you have Shabazz with the ball top of the key, he starts to drive... what do you do?? You've got a LeBron, a Wade, a Bosh, and maybe Ray or a different knock down 3 point shooter as Shabazz is driving the lane. The defense cant afford to collapse on him one bit and leave those guys open, so its either an open shot for a guy whose man comes over, or Shabazz has his way in the lane 1 on 1. Hard to imagine him not succeeding in that system

Miami may not be a good team in the very near future if Lebron leaves and there is a decent chance that could happen. Wade is getting older. He would get minutes in Miami but I'd like to see him go to OKC.

Bazz is said to have worked out with Orlando in the past few days.

The following is an interesting and very optimist take on Bazz'z future.

According to ESPN.com's Chad Ford, the Celtics are favoring a point guard with their first pick in the NBA Draft and like what they see out of former Connecticut star, Shabazz Napier. The point guard has seen his stock rise over the past few weeks. Teams like that he stayed in college and is already a developed leader along with being a talented offensive star. The Celtics view Napier as a player that can step in immediately if need be, or develop behind Rondo for the future. If they want to draft Napier, they might have to do so early since Ford believes that everyone from the Chicago Bulls to the Los Angeles Lakers will also take a look at Napier.

I keep reading about how Bazz doesn't have NBA level explosiveness and I shake my head. The kid just posted over a three foot vertical jump. Yeah he will need to work on his body and some muscle and strength but he isn't sherman douglass as an athlete at the PG position either. I remember when there were concerns about Cliff Robinson and he was the last guy in the room at the NBA draft. Guys like Roy Marble, Jeff Sanders were drafted ahead of him. Cliff played like near 20 years in the league at a high level. If Bazz drops, I suspect there will be a lot of busts drafted ahead of him that will be distant NBA memories while he is still in the league.

They could have Melo as well lol.

Hes just gallivanting around the US. Do the teams fly him there and put him up in a hotel? Probably a dumb question but I am curious

.-.
No. He usually sleeps on a cot in the gym. Sometimes, on the floor of the locker room in a sleeping bag.

Even us plebes get flown around and put up for a job interview many of times.

There is a lot of buzz following napier on these workouts, people tweeting how he has impressed many across the league. I think ainge will be intrigued, especially if they do something with rondo soon. still, many of the celts fans i know want nothing to do with him.

I was originally hoping he'd sneak into the first round, and the longer this goes on, the more it sounds like he could threaten to get into the back end of the lottery.

If he wasn't such a moron, he'd probably still be playing in the league at another position.
If Tebow had gone to Alabama to play LB...he would have had a MUCH different outcome as an NFL player!!
Now on to Bazz...he will become the poster child on what can happen by staying in school for 4 years.

They're too busy stewing about Ray Allen

There once was a guard named Tiny who was a star. Celtics have some good history with small point guards.

"Shabazz is so clever and shifty," said Austin Ainge, Boston's director of player personnel. "He is very hard to stay in front of. He really changes direction very well. He's quick, but he's even more shiftier than he is quick; and he makes shots."
But his shot-making at the next level is among the many concerns with him as NBA teams are unsure whether he'll be able to get those same shots off against bigger, more athletic competition than what he faced in college.
"Shabazz is not physically overwhelming," Ainge admitted. "But he has toughness, intelligence and skill, and that extra savvy. He more than makes up for it. He's a good player."
