For that to happen, the NCAA would have to do something they have demonstrated they are relunctant to do: spend more than the bare minimum on the women's tournament.

It would make sense for the conference's to get together as a group, and start schools to instruct officials. Right now you see in both major sports a lot of blown calls. It would improve all the games, and make it more enjoyable for the fans. And the fans are the ones who pay the money.

Seems so strange that with all clicking for the 'Lady Bears' & surging ahead with the score, it all of a sudden 'stopped' ! The game scoring reversed itself to the other team. Many say it was the 'hamstring leg injury', that had occurred. Some will attribute it to bad luck ? Humm! Before I forget, have a 'Happy Easter' !

Kim also has a roster of 13. One of the other 7 kids many of whom are upperclassmen should have been able to give them something. 7 of UConn's 12 players are freshman, and 2 others are sophomores. Baylor was positioned much better to weather an in-game injury like that. It wasn't like they lost Smith or Carrington early in the game, and Richards still played 30 minutes.

THIS picture should be THE rebuttal to any pictures Mulkey or anyone else wants to present. If this was not a foul (and it wasn't called), then the Carrington play was not a foul!!! Calls were missed and not called the entire game. THIS is just one instance. Paige got mugged on several occasions, and did not get a whistle. Yes, it was a bad no call, but it was just one of many during the tournament. Iowa State and Michigan can give you chapter and verse about bad calls or no calls. Please folks, let's move on. We've got other fish to fry here.

Reality is UCONN played a game where one of their players was out hurt, the refs allowed a physical game which benefited the opponent, they played not so great down the stretch (like the Ark. game), played against a really good team of 3 seniors and 2 juniors, and they still WON!
With the high school recruits coming in the next 2 years, UCONN gonna heat up that debate again about UCONN and everybody else, good times lololololololololololololololol
Geno will be patrolling the sidelines with a walker in a decade with recruiting classes like these!

Liv and Edwards played 29 and 26 minutes respectively. While they didn't play the full 40 like our guards, they were out there most of the game. Aubrey played the other 25 minutes. Out of our front court we got a grand total of 9 pts, 10 blocks, and 10 fouls committed.

2 of those 9 points was the difference!!

AG took some heat in the chat. Not sure why. She took two charges, hit a perimeter shot and held her own guarding arguably one of the best front court players in the country NaLyssa Smith. If Geno wasn't pleased, we probably would have seen Anna. (Probably should have seen her a little anyway for EW.)

Nika was a starter. Really wish people would stop marginalizing her contributions to this team.

A little hard to understand how disrespected she is by so many posters here. On the other hand, many have the opposite view. IMO, the game last night would have been much different if she played. Baylor would not have been able to take the ball wherever they wanted, which they did for a good portion of the game. Besides the rub off effect her tenacity has on the rest of the team.
Having said that, that is just an opinion, while the fact is the players available found a way, which I have to honestly say, I did not think was going to happen when they got down by ten.

As soon as I saw that called charge I had to text my friend who coached women's bball to see if the restricted area was used in the women's game also. BOTH her feet were inside the circle, it HAS to be a block!

By the end of the game the refs had not only swallowed their whistles, they had digested them. But putting aside the many missed calls on Baylor fouls, possibly the worst call of the game was the charge (on Griffin, I think) where the defender was standing in the restricted area. That is never a charge.

The restricted area only applies to secondary defenders. Griffin was running down the court and got the ball on a pass and Richards became the primary defender, meaning all she has to do is be in legal guarding position which she was. If she was considered the secondary defender then the call would have been a block. If Westbrook would have kept the ball and drive since she was being guarded by Ursin and Richards would have slid in front of her then it would have been a charge. That is why it was not questioned during the broadcast.

Does this look like a foul? It wasn't called. Feel free to use this photo in rebuttal to any cries of foul, or photos depicting a foul on Carrington. Remember the old adage: "pictures don't lie." You don't need to argue or say a word. Just present THIS photo. It speaks for itself!! It's interesting how so many calls of this nature can go unnoticed during the game, but when a no-call happens in the last 10 seconds of the game, everybody cries foul, and wants compensation.

How much compensation did Aubrey/UConn get on THIS play?!? You can turn and twist this picture like a "rubiks cube" all day. It's a foul any way you look at it!! It was a no-call. Seeing this picture is why I don't care about all of the crying and whining from naysayers about Carrington's no-call. I don't believe anyone from UConn Nation is suggesting Carrington wasn't fouled. Replays and still photos suggest she was. All we're saying is what about the numerous plays like this that weren't called either? Paige got hammered several times and didn't get a call. So did Christyn. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. Let's move on. Nothing more to see here.

If you think there was a groundswell of wcbb fans that didn't like UConn before, it's even worse now. That last no-call will cause millions of fans that were distant fence sitters to jump on that "UConn sucks" bandwagon, and pray we don't win the NC. 🤪

I’m not marginalizing her contributions. But, comparing her absence to the player that Baylor lost is nuts. Nika is a solid player who deserved to start while Edwards was moving to a higher level of play. Now Edwards has become an extremely valuable piece of the puzzle. Especially tonight where UCONN needed big bodies. IMO Nika is 1st or 2nd off the bench now. And with the recruits coming in, she will have to play hard and well to keep that status. This doesn’t make her a bad player.

If you don’t recognize the difference Muhl made on this team, no one is going to change your mind. Basketball is played the majority of the time without the ball and in all those aspects Muhl is so much more than a solid player. As for her minutes going forward, they will be there, guaranteed.

What makes you think officials are not currently being instructed & evaluated? The officials are human they occasionally miss calls just like any other endeavor which involves human beings.

UCONN won - beat a terrific team and you are "worried" at this moment? Was it you that was also worried about Azzi playing in April and want her to shoot in her driveway? Okay--not meant to be mean here - but - whatever.

But yeah any game UCONN is playing now in FF and if they move in to the finals they can lose so yeah okay be worried. I'm with anyone that thinks AZ won't be easy. Not one bit. Az will be playing with nothing to lose. Though UCONN won't be as nervous as in the past two games, either.

Arizona won’t be easy. McDonald is a little beast of a nat that’s snakes her way through the Defense with amazing ease. If she runs into a defender she kicks it out and they hit the three. I see our Biggs having an easier time than with Baylor’s so we should look to feed the low post. McDonald is the main threat here if she can be limited somewhat like Kaitlyn Clark was UConn has a strong chance for a win.

You can make the case that Ursin was the primary defender when she raked her across the forearm and caused the ball to come loose way before Richards entered the play.

Great win for the Huskies. This was a slugfest. We got off to a wonderful start then started missing layups and getting badly out rebounded on the offensive boards. About an even first half.

Consider this: Our two bigs, because of early foul trouble, only played 50 of the 80 minutes during this game against a very trough defensive team. This didn't happen to Baylor. We played small for much the game with Griffin the only sub for 25 minutes. This was much more time than she had played in any game this year.

The only stat categories we lost were offensive rebounding and foul shots made. We were soft in a couple of areas late in the game but got some stops when needed. In some respects we should have won by 5-8 points but a resourceful win never the less. If you can win when your not at your best, good for you!
