we'll see how they pan out as more continue to come back to college but the first wave of these guys stink. For what they're being paid I'm sure you could probably find cheaper at the college level to give you the same production.
In all seriousness, is there an official rule (or at least a rule the NCAA would challenge) that prohibits a player who has played in the NBA from joining a college team? The line between G-League and NBA seems arbitrary at this point and declaring for the draft apparently doesn't impact your eligibility
There's a rule against guys who were in college who then stayed in the NBA draft, which he violates.
The NCAA were forced to agree to allow guys to get paid tangentially related to playing their sport, and then they were forced to double down on it by allowing schools to pay the kids directly. Once people are getting paid, you have a lot less power to restrict them from earning a living if you are seen as having significant power in the marketplace niche.
We have a lot of guys, we could pay Bouknight more than he's currently making but I really want to bring back Clingan and Castle.

They're not that good when compared to the NBA and G League players. But they are talented just to get to that level and how would these older players look against college players? My guess is they all would be very good in college.

I'm using the examples we have right now and these guys aren't good. I don't believe Naija played in the GLeague but did play in the NBA Summer League and he isn't doing much of anything for Baylor and they aren't winning games with him. Santa Clara signed Thierry Darlan from the GLeauge, I watched Santa Clara vs Gonzaga a couple of weeks ago and he was arguably the worst rotation player on the court. Louisville signed former GLeague player London Johnson with the plan to play the 2nd semester and he was performing so poorly in practice that the head coach decided to redshirt him. BYU signed GLeague player Abdullah Ahmed and he's just a warm body, you can find all these types from the HS ranks or Juco looking to move up. Here are their stats except Johnson since he hasn't played.

Then why does the Baylor guy get four full years at age 21?
They basically baked in a redshirt year for him based on when he started his pro career. I think he'll have 4 years to play 4 instead of 5 to play 4. (But that rule will probably change within 4 years anyways).
