STORRS, Conn. - Sophomore guard Brianna Banks underwent a successful surgical procedure on her right knee to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament on Thursday, March 14 at the University of Connecticut Health Center. The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Arciero. Banks is expected to be ready for the start of the 2013-14 season and has two years of eligibility remaining.
The Newnan, Ga. native suffered the injury during UConn's 71-65 victory at St. John's on February 2.
"I am very pleased that the procedure on Brianna's knee was a success," head coachGeno Auriemma said. "I know she will work extremely hard during the rehabilitation process and look forward to her being back on the floor next season."
