Ball, Bray and Stew....

Stewart was a better rebounder and assists guy. They are different types of athletes. Just because someone is super active doesn't mean he is effective. He became more effecitve with more minutes as 3pt shooting % picked up. I'm sure Stewart could of done this with more minutes. His defense has improved drastically. They were both integral parts of the bench and it sucked that Stewart was never fully healthy after that Villanova game.
Ross had a presence out there that I didnt see with Stewart, and im not knocking Stewart.

Yeah maybe at the end of the year but before Stewart's injury. I saw them pretty even and remember it was Stewie first off the bench(Coaching staff decision) most of the time before the injury. They both were integral parts and flashed at times and after Stewie's injury Ross became more consistent off the bench without worrying about sharing time. I'm sure if the roles were reversed Stewie would stepped up in the same way. Neither player is starter in a UConn team with dreams of the final four but are key reserves off the bench. Ross I guess is fine playing that role again this year while Stewart wasn't I respect both of their decisions and happy to have seen both of them this last 3 years get better.

And solo is an awful shooter. We know your opinions. They are just really bad.
Lol. I didnt say Solo was an awful shooter. I like Solo. I just dont like injury as excuses. Could the injury have effected his shooting, of course, but he also made shots with the same injury, so its not all on the injury

You just said he was hurting the team. The guy was our second leading scorer all year, playing hurt. And one of the best shooters in the country for a an entire season the year before. You’re incorrect.

What has happened to this board? Everyone needs a timeout.
Im an objective UConn fan. I've been going to UConn games since literally I was born. Early 1980s. I bleed blue. I love UConn but again I also question things and call out what I see. If this board wants lovie dovie all the time, thats fine, but aren't opinions allowed. I love Stewart. I just think Ross is better. Maybe I shouldn't even say that on here.

Well is he not hurting the team if he was missing shots because of his injury. How about he missed alot of shots, and injury might have had something to do with that. That way its not all on the injury

That is not what people are calling you out for. It’s for saying Solo is a bad shooter who hurt the team.

Maybe you feel that way as Stewart was a higher rated player out of college with a higher ceiling than Ross ever had due to his skillset. Stewart never met that higher ceiling due party to outside stuff(McDonals's all Americans ahead of him and Kararban) which felt a little disappointing even to me who loved Stewie. I thought Stewart was starting material especially after his Frehmen year but that never happened. He was still a great bench piece who contributed in all 3 years he was here. While Ross got every ounce out of his talent and exceeded expecations. I could see that view but as players their contribution to UConn basketball was quite similar and both valuable players off the bench.

Now we've reached the 'quoting Steve Miller' level.

The Boneyard once again breaks new ground.

“If a UConn game’s on,” Jones added, “I’ll still be cheering on Silas and Solo and Jayden and Braylon. There’s no bad tension or anything.”

Edit: added tweet. What’s the “client challenge”when I post direct link to article? @temery

Stewart is, or at least has been, a 4 here. He's not really a 3. What "logjam" is currently at the 4 position here? There isn't one. Right now, we don't even have a single player at the 4 on the roster. So I disagree he's leaving due to a" logjam" at his position. But I'm sure Danny told him what role he could realistically play here, and it's not much different from the role he has been playing.

Stewart understandably wants to start and/or play 22+ minutes a game as a senior. He's more than put in his time as a backup, and probably got less time here than he should have. Alex rarely sat at all last year, often playing 36-40 minutes in a game, which was overkill. Jaylin should have gotten a few more of those minutes. But Jaylin's simply not quite good enough to get starters minutes here, and he is probably good enough to get that at a non contender. If he was willing to come back and accept the same role he's had (backup 4, 12-14 min's a game,) he'd still be here. He understandably wants to play more, so he's leaving. Pretty simple.

The other two high volume shooters other than Ball were AK and Mullins.

AK had a hot start to the year but wasn't exactly burning the nets down. Some up and down shooting from 3.

Mullins started out shooting 38%. Probably ended the last month+ shooting in the 20s.

Who else did you want the shots to go to? Its amazing we had this tournament run while shooting well from 3 in just a single game. Shows we did almost everything else well.

Well, Ross shot 50% from three during tournament play — probably should’ve leaned into that a bit more. Glad to see him let it fly though. Build on that.

Ross took 7 threes in 6 games. But yeah I think hes gonna be a real sniper next year with higher volume.

You are not objective. You are being subjective. As are many posts in this forum. Opinions are personal.
