Watching this St. John’s Xavier mic’d up coaches game and hearing Mike Anderson start shouting “3, 2, 1…” when Xavier had the ball and the shot clock was at 9 seconds makes me realize that Andre might be in the right when he’s chirping at these benches after made 3s lol

Sadly a missed opportunity for Sanogo. It’s only one game but there were some scouts watching this one for sure.

I was really wrong about Trey Patterson. I thought he was going to turn out to be a player.
 
AJax wasn’t even talking to Neptune. He was talking past him at someone else

Sanogo has the talent and mind set to play in the league. I’m really impressed with what he’s done to improve his shooting this year. He needs to improve his passing and decision making skills but I have no doubt he will. Every year less talented players get picked up in the 2nd round.

AJax is the straw that stirs our drink. The T’s and smack talk come with that and are part of the equation (maybe not every game but some). Guy is an absolute gamer and anyone looking for “manners” from him doesn’t get it.

It looked like AJ thought either Neptune was on the court or too close to the court (technically Neptune shouldn’t be standing there but every coach does that especially Hurley). AJ was in the wrong, but he’s a passionate player. It’s whatever, use it as another learning moment and move on.

Also, Whitmore is absolutely not overrated. He’s a freshman still getting back to full speed. Give the kid a break. He still showed why he’s a consensus top 10 pick in just a few small flashes of him jumping passes and crazy rebounding. He reminds me of a slightly less athletic AJ that can score and take over games, and definitely has skills that will translate to the NBA. Kid is a real deal.

Very few coaches would permit a player to continue to draw technical fouls for chirping. They would tell him that was his job and all you're doing is letting them get in your head. Love the intensity and talent of AJ but he has a ways to go before he starts role playing Bird or MJ with trash talking. Let your playing do your talking and shut them up that way. Or if you have that much confidence give them "the stare" like Tyrese Martin. I used to love that!
 
Imagine being desperate enough as a coach you’re trying to influence T’s against the other team. I see a very Ollie like path for Nova over next few years bc he seems lost as a coach. Use your final TO with 8 minutes to go in the game, that’s baffling.
