B1G Ramblings

makes sense why we can't get in now. ... Our logo isn't made of up letters.

Illinois is fiercely defending its spot as the leading letter in the BIG...can you imagine the furor if they had to give up their prime spot to our block C? We can be flexible, UConn falls nicely after UCLA, so it's not like there's an outlier in that regard...crime in Italy, Penn State doesn't even use their letters. ^_^

Let's face it. Our logo would be whatever the Big 10 would want it to be, just as an AAU invitation would be forthcoming if the Big 10 wanted UConn. They can use our Block C if they want.

UCLA should be the first logo in line with the University of Illinois 2nd. UConn would be 2nd if added. These maroons can't get anything right.

I agree. We should also drop tOSU as they call themselves The Ohio State University. Drop them below Oregon, Penn State and Rutgers.

The West Coast expansion seems to be achieving its goal ---

Oregon-Ohio State Scores Biggest Primetime Big Ten Game Audience Since 2008 With 10.2 Million Viewers

Ratings Archives
The Saturday night matchup peaked at a viewership of 13.4 million during its dramatic final moments.

Most of the big B1G games in the past have occurred in the noon kickoff time (OSU vs. Michigan, for example), so those games wouldn't count for primetime audiences.

Nebraska v IU game actually means something this year and will draw a lot of viewers

Some of the first data on the effects of long away games.........

USC and UCLA are currently the top two teams in the B1G in women's soccer and will play each other in the final regular season game of the season to determine the conference champion. USC went 7-0-1 in away games in the B1G this season.

If you have a good team, you are going to win, no matter how far away the games are played..........

Maybe. Give it time.

Women's Basketball....

Schools will play 18 conference games. Each team plays 16 of the other teams once. Traditional rivalries will be preserved, with schools like USC and UCLA playing each other twice.

To ease the travel burden, the West Coast schools will combine six games into three trips to the Eastern and Central time zones. Teams from those time zones will go west just once to play two games over four days.

The Big Ten Tournament will be played in Indianapolis from March 5-9, with the top 15 teams qualifying.
