Iowa preview.
Nice interview.
Iowa preview.
Woke up thinking about Maryland basketball. How good can Saylor be in her final season. Will Smikle, Garzon, Saylor, and Okanawa all start together. In any event I came across this video. Maybe I missed this legislation. I'm sure it's been covered on the board. But does this kinda circumvent the whole international players making money in college issue, as they were not eligible for NIL. Tbh this could be just a lack of journalism in this piece but are colleges simply just paying players directly including international players. Apologies if this is the wrong thread to discuss the latter.
I wonder if these payments are in the form of revenue sharing. I could see where that money, coming directly from the schools and not NIL collectives, would be considered much like scholarships in terms of legality. It may be worth a different thread, but you're not alone in the confusion. Through my friends with kids playing in the US, I've gotten the impression that things have changed. More schools are paying their international students directly. I have also noticed a trend with more international MBB players committing to NCAA programs lately. Considering some of the programs they're leaving, which have developed NBA pros, this is a significant change from a few years ago.
