Azzi needs to create her own shot. Every team is going to guard her tight, if she only shots when she is wide open then UConn won’t get to where they want to get. Azzi needs to be a little selfish and look for shot a lot more than what she did against Duke.

It's interesting. Geno's a mad scientist. His quotes after the game were about how Azzi did well, not forcing anything.

There was one shot in the corner she passed up. They also showed a replay where she had an assist to AE but she was actually wide open. Other than that I don't think she was super passive. I thought she had a solid game.

A good benching before a big game is a UConn rite of honor. I remember Stewie's look at the start of the SC game when she got benched the previous game. With some luck, Azzi is a bit pissed although she may just be too nice.

Not so. It depends upon their skill set. If someone is a very good shooter, they are expected to take every decent shot that they see.

It is interesting that in the play before she got taken out, she did aggressively go to the basket but was stuffed. She did look a bit tired and did not have the explosive lift. I think that is a factor as well

Yeah as I went back to look at that scenario, she did have a lightly contested 3 at the top before she drove. I checked the entire second half and she had several similar where she passed up shots that I, IMHO, thought were 50/50 to shoot or continue the offense. I think he wants her to have a Caitlin approach to her game.
