So my wife and I both noticed Azzi’s image walking into MSG last night and the slogan, “As one chapter ends, a legacy begins.” Until reading this thread this morning, neither of us realized it was an ad for Geico. Maybe Geico needs to have Azzi appear jointly with the little green lizard so that people get the marketing angle. 😉

The pic looks photoshopped to make her appear skinnier than she is. Or am I mis-seeing?

(Not that she is heavy, heaven forfend. In fact, she looks just right--indeed, very healthy--in real life.)

Something tells me that coach does not think all of this off-court publicity is what is needed heading into the BE Tournament and the NCAA. There will be more than enough time for publicity after achieving a NC.( As a reminder pull up Rocky I.) 😀

I don’t agree. Geno has fully supported Paige and other players who have been able to truly use their NIL profiles to cash in on numerous endorsement opportunities.

Going into the Big Dance last season several advertisers introduced new ads featuring Paige. It certainly didn’t hurt Paige’s performance or the team’s.

Azzi is an intelligent, grown woman. Geno absolutely trusts her to take care of business off and on the court.

And by the way, the film where Rocky gets a bit full of himself and eventually loses is not Rocky I, it’s Rocky III.

No, I think they were not looking for skinnier. They were going for taller.

The potential to earn big bucks with NIL helps draw top talent to UConn. Geno would be foolish to object to his players cashing in on their name.

Besides, Azzi is doing fantastically on the court, is outstanding in the classroom, and has time to spend with her friends at events like Unrivaled. It sounds like the NIL appearances and hoopla aren’t affecting her one bit.

There have been photo's of her working out and she had the same lean frame that is on the board. I believe that it just stands out more because of it's size and the background.

I’m sure he means Rocky I. Apollo Creed was the grandstander who didn’t respect the underdog Rocky. Apollo was all theatrics and showboating in his Uncle Sam get up in the made for the Fourth of July fight.

I doubt very much that will be Azzi but you have to admit the pairing with GEICO etc is something additional on her plate. But true NIL players are going to be capitalizing on their image which is fine. There are so many that get “NIL” money but are really just paid to play ball.
