Aubrey health / availability?

It was great to see her in, having not seen her for a couple of games. She looked rusty a bit I suppose, but she'll rest for a few days, and she should play in both games this weekend.

I think Geno’s use of Aubrey in the 4th qtr last night is like the glass box on the wall that contains a fire axe and says, “Break in case of fire.” While Sarah was more than holding her own against Iriafen, Marshall was a real problem for UConn. Enter Aubrey and problem solved.

I have a suspicious feeling the next game (or two). Aubrey Griffin will make some game altering plays for us as she puts her body on the line to help us hopefully get the ultimate prize.

I'm amazed how high she soars when she goes in for a layup, so close to the basket she sikes herself out and found a way to miss

Aubrey came into the game at just the right time. Sarah had to be getting tired by the 4th Q, so Aubrey's fresh legs were needed. She really provided a spark to the defense.
You do realize that Sarah played all 40 minutes.

Yes, I do which is why I assumed Sarah was getting tired. Sarah was also going up against players bigger than her, which is also exhausting.

Come on mate, first - nobody's 100% perfect, as coach would head to the front of the line to purport. Second - debate, conflict (respectful, constructive) is one of the main tenants of these sorts of endeavors.
This was a bit back, but this from ESPN today goes to the point, from coach himself. Of course, success speaks for itself, but the back-and-forth (as above) is always fun and rewarding. Love the tactics of the sport - especially with freeze frame and frame advance on the DVR... ;)

In the back of my mind I had this thought that Geno was holding back Aubrey for SC. The schedule of games wasn’t ideal for her, now that’s no longer a factor. Im not saying she should get crazy minutes but maybe you play her 2 minutes at the end of a quarter then 2 minutes to start a quarter that’s a big 4 minutes. There is no next game to worry about its the national championship no minutes restriction.

Aubrey matches up well with SC bigs, she can also play several positions and provides offensive rebounding spark. When we go small we can't go too small and Aubrey is the answer at several positions. SC is quick and athletic.

Geno will have several defensive schemes, perhaps a zone at times as he had shown that in recent games to slow down SC and provide better block-out rebounding. One key to getting Azzie scoring early and quick penetration for our guards. Go Huskies!
