Uhhhh, this doesn't appear to be a posting for the OC, but rather a QB/Pass Game coach.

And previous QB coaching a prerequisite. That seems to end dreams about Orlovsky.

Even if they promote Sammis, don't they still need to post the full OC position anyway?

Why does this job process not include an HR of Madden tape to evaluate play calling and clock management? I have my tape ready by the way.

I don't even know why anyone would want Orlovsky for anything other than an ambassadorship. Unless he absolutely kills it, it would end terribly. Either he quits his alma mater or god forbid gets fired. It's just bad PR waiting to happen.

100%, he is UConn football. He is the only face that people know nationally. He's the one person that non football fans associate with the program. We don't want to have our own Scott Frost situation. Especially as bad as things ended with Ollie.

Fair points.

Alt future, Dan is serious about a career change and starts somewhere else with great success. UConn misses again as he is pulled up and away.

This doesn't sound good. IIRC the staff was maxed out last year as far as body count. Lost Marianelli and Charlton. Gained a DC and now this. So that means the new OC comes from the current staff?

1 year of FCS, FBS, NFL coaching experience? Setting the bar a little low aren't we?

+1...Don't know, but it kind of reads as though it could be a QB/ passing game asst. to supplement Sammis as the new OC....If that's the way it plays out, it just screams even more un-watchable, we're a running team FB that Mora liked to claim last year..... You know, when he refuses to pass the ball downfield even down 3 touchdowns, i.e. Ga St. Duke, etc. We shall see, but if they don't want to bring in some urgency to upgrade one of the worst offenses and passing teams in CFB......I'll watch from home for the 1st time in like 25 years SMH !

Would love have known how well Charlton and Sammis worked together and how they differed/agreed on play calling. Feels like Sammis is the OC and we’ll find out. Unless JM is acting OC

This seems to be the clubhouse leader right now for OC until we hear something else (either Sammis or Mora as OC).

As for the QB coach, who is out there that has just 1-2 years of coaching experience as a QB coach in the last 10 years at either the FBS, FCS, or NFL? That's our candidate list... Seems like this will be an old friend of Mora's perhaps from his NFL days.

I was expecting the qualifications to include; "formerly a TE at the Dallas Cowboys with a minimum of 70 touchdowns" and/or "must has prior coaching experience with current freshman QB."

If he is willing to leave the pros, I would love to see it happen!

He just got hired by the Falcons, but a bump up from passing specialist to OC at the Alma mater might be tempting enough.

He has been QB coach/worked with Justin Herbert in the pros, and Trevor Lawrence/Justin Fields in college… that’s a great resume! Let’s go Chandler!!!

Here's some other fun names that won't happen but are fun to think about. Young up and coming offensive coaches.

(Third generation)

I'm more than willing to find out who of Whitmer (Georgia) and Tuiasosopo (Texas) has the better chance of recruiting talent here and giving him the job.

I don’t know. I’ve seen more than a couple of FCS teams with passing games more sophisticated than ours. We’ll see but I think Mora has someone in mind for this one, too.

He was clearly disgusted with the offense last season. And he has now made changes to correct what was a mess. Give it a chance.

I'm not on Twitter anymore. Have there been any new relevant follows/followers from Mora or PC?

PC is no longer with UConn apparently, so we miss that easy lead
Is that confirmed about Pat Collins?

Still listed on the UConn Coaching/Admin roster page and his UConn twitter account had activity earlier this month.

Meanwhile Charlton has been removed.
