I knew where you were going...

... it's under 2014 Recruiting Thread (duh!)

I just figured out why I didn't see it in the 2014 recruiting thread. Because I have HFD on ignore any thread he created is gone from my view. Only when it pops up on the most recent post list can I see it.

No that it appears he is gone I can just unignore him and the threads will reappear.

I just pray for good grades and a good SAT score so we don't get in another Dobbs situation. Saw at the end of one of the Newsome commit articles that Dobbs isn't enrolled at Temple anymore.

this kid's stats are unreal over 6000 yds and 96 tds in past two seasons according to Duffy. Great get.

Same day the new jersey came out. Coincidence or the power of the new husky?

That really is too bad for Dobbs.

Welcome arkeel! Program just got better today !

Best News in a Long time. Welcome Mr Newsome!

May your fb career be as successful at UConn's level as your old Ansonia alums Pat, Tim, and Terry McNamara's were at Trinity.

Excellent News, it is the skill positions that can take you to the top and PP is making an impact with recruiting in this area. It will be great to watch you play at the Rent, Welcome Arkeel!

Awesome!!! What does he do if PP doesn't survive the season? I hope he comes either way but getting Arkeel on campus is one major reason that I am pulling for PP to right the ship and come up big this year.

It really is. Seemed like a nice family. Talked to his mom at a dinner in Ansonia. Sometimes though these kids don't get great advice or mentorship.

Pat Mac was a good friend of my wife's...and in the short time I got to know him was one of the most stand-up guys I have ever met in my life. I miss the times we shared just shooting the over a beer at a GFOA conference! I never knew about Pat's football accomplishments until after he passed...I wish I did though because I would have loved to listen to his stories about playing for Ansonia!

I may be mistaken but isn't that video from his freshman season? While I saw a time stamp from 2010 I also saw a few time stamps pop up with 2007 as well.

I'm all for kids studying to get it right but how long has he been in high school? (tongue planted firmly in cheek)

That's a WTNH channel 8 website so....is that the best they could find? We'd be all over Dez or the Courant if they ran a frosh video with an annoying red arrow over the runner.

He's got wheels for sure.

I don't post often, but when I do, I prefer to post about great news for the UConn football program.

Welcome to UConn Arkeel!

Well played Mr. XX.

Surprised no one has mentioned he is 'only' a 3-star by scout and rivals, for whatever that's worth.

Always think the CT kids who come here get a little too overhyped. But would be neat if he followed the path of this guy

Amatuer. If you want to spool up the Nancy Naysayers you need to show that his unranked by ESPN. You know, the network that has it out for everything Uconn.

As the saying goes. Just because you're paranoid that everyone is out to get you doesn't mean they aren't.

Ranked the #18 All Purpose Back in the country by Rivals for 2014.

Naysayers say that means he isn't good enough to be an every down back. You need misdirection and trick plays to make him valuable.

Gotta give P credit on the recruiting trail. Hopefully Newsome is the next in line of great UConn running backs.

In all seriousness, it's a real good commit on paper.

I won't get in to the whole local kid vs best kid debate. He's a high quality kid who has two years of excellent game film.

And I agree that it's cool to have kids committing who "grew up watching Uconn football" at the Rent. As several others have pointed out, today's high school kids have only known Uconn to be a BCS school playing at the Rent. Playing out of trailers is as much history to them as Vietnam and the Civil War.

I think some of the CT kids we have coming in could break that mold. Take a look at the backfield potential roster the year he arrives, including QB's. It could be a real beast for 2-3 years. Visions of TD's are dancing through my head.

IF the o-line ever gets straightened out. In all seriousness, I hope that A.N. is the 2nd coming of Terry Caulley. THAT would be something!
