There will definitely be some changes in the AP top 25 today.

UConn should solidify it's top position — will they sweep the remaining four voters and make it unanimous? I say yes.

The Texas loss will cost them some points, but will it be enough to drop them out of second place? Texas will join South Carolina and UCLA as one loss teams. Massey rates South Carolina ahead of Texas, but it will be hard for voters to move Texas behind South Carolina, given that South Carolina beat Texas head-to-head. For the same reason, it would be hard for voters to move Texas behind UCLA, given that Texas beat UCLA head-to-head.

This leaves voters with a dilemma. They like to move the team down when they have a loss, as we saw in the case of LSU, but where and why? I think they deserve to move down a spot but I'll predict that the voters struggled but leave them in second place albeit closing the gap in terms of votes.

Michigan State is waving at those talking about the three 1 loss teams and saying what about us we're one loss team. Vanderbilt says excuse me "one loss team" how about zero losses? Michigan State should move up but not quite ready to jostle with the big boys.

Vanderbilt expects to move up especially given that Oklahoma and Kentucky both had losses. Oklahoma will fall more having lost twice.

Everyone's eyeing Michigan with their surprisingly strong performance the season but they may not even be the best team in Michigan. Michigan State feels slighted and is likely to move past Michigan.

Ohio State's way down there in 19, dropping a lot after getting smoked by UConn but since that loss they've only had the single seven-point loss to UCLA and some solid wins against Illinois and Maryland. Massey has them slotted at eight and I don't think they will move that far but they ought to move up a few spots.

Duke isn't ranked, and Charlie Creme didn't even have them in the field of 64. I argued with him about his choice and he made a nice stab at defending his decision, but results always trump arguments. I expect to see Duke back in the top 25. They deserve to be in the top 20 but they may not get that far this soon.

LSU should move up in the polls. I argued to no avail that they didn't deserve to drop after the two losses. I'm not surprised that voters are differently but results support my position better than the voters. I still think they deserve to be fifth but I don't think the voters will have the guts to move them that far up. Maybe eighth.

AP Voters have not clue.

On Sunday unranked West Virginia was at #11 Iowa State. West Virginia was favored and won rather easily.

Phil, good post, but I believe you made a typo, Texas beat South Carolina. So, I agree that Texas will most likely remain #2>

The challenge with Iowa State is that it looks like their second best player Brown is out so not sure these losses are telling their whole story.
If they can't win a game without Addy Brown (including against Massey #116 Cincinnati), I think that makes the story pretty clear. There's no timeline for her return, so the losses may pile up (more than they have so far).

Yes, unanimous for UConn. (Not a big surprise, but with some voters not liking UConn, there was a chance for an LSU vote just to keep it out of unanimity.)

Okla loses close games to #16 Ole Miss and @ #7 Kentucky and falls 8 spots. Brutal!
They fall past Maryland, after the beat Rutgers and lost by double digits at home to #14 OhioSt.

Super logjam at #6-7-8 with a total separation of 24 points.
Ditton 11-12-13-14-15 with just 23 points top to bottom.
