Notre Dame and Texas move up to 2 and 3 respectively while SoCar drops to 4.
UCLA still 1 but it appears that one voter hasn't voted yet, only 31 first place votes for the Bruins. No other team appears to have the 32nd vote.
Tennessee moves up 4 spots to 15.
Creighton enters the poll at 24.

Looks exactly right to me. A loss to SC will drop us out of the top 10 possibly, but certainly to a 3 seed.

That is a fair ranking! UCONN will still be a #2 seed.
South Carolina got punished as harshly for losing to a #4 team as UCONN for losing to a #19 team. Both teams dropped 2 spots!

Wow, can't believe we're still in the top 10.
The ironic part is that UCONN might still be a top ten team if they lose to South Carolina. They shouldn't drop more than 3 spots losing on the road to a top 4 team.
But I suggest that the Huskies don't get blown out! ;)

We should have dropped much more than two spots.
Who should have leapfrogged UConn?

It was a close loss to a top-25 team. For UConn to drop further there also needs to be a team that deserves to be ranked higher. I wouldn’t say that of Ohio State or Kentucky. I’ll give a maybe to NCState. #11 TCU lost by 30 to Oklahoma State on Saturday and only dropped two spots. Tennessee climbed five spots despite losing to LSU on Sunday.

The team we just lost to for starters. If we're not deciding this stuff on the court, then what's the point?

Had they beated LSU they probably would have been top 10 or even 8 but beating us and then losing to LSU canceled the higher jump out. They are 5-5 in their conference, can beat a top 10 and then lose to Vanderbilt.

I really would put Texas in the conversation too. They are tall and physical and arguably have the best coach in the country for post players. They pounded SC and if the game hadn't been called so close I think the game might have gotten out of control early. UCLA to me is one that looks great with their record but they better hope they don't play Texas. You also left out Southern Cal who beat UConn at UConn so if UConn can win I think I would include USC too.

The only contender I think UConn can beat with its 4 guard lineup is Notre Dame. Problem is I think if both teams play good defense ND will shoot a better percentage from outside. But I am still going to hold out hope that UConn figures out they need length with their big three and they will have a superior lineup and bigger upside for the season.

One of the voters, Mitchell Northam, WUNC, voted Tennessee at 10 and UConn at 11, so...

Butler beat Indiana who beat Iowa who beat USC, so by that logic, Butler should be ranked above USC.

We do decide this stuff on the court in a tournament. The poll doesn’t decide anything except the thoughts of the voters.

Butler did not play USC, so it’s not quite the same thing. In the case of Tennessee and UConn we have head to head results to go by, so we know which team is better (at least for the moment).

Isn't it somewhat noteworthy that Creighton appeared in the rankings as #24, adding to the credibility of the Big East? I believe that is their first recent appearance in the rankings.

Also, #8 Kentucky lost tonight to Ole Miss (whom UConn beat handily), so I doubt that KY will stay in the Top 10 for very long.

This hardly deserves a response -- obviously the rankings are based on a team's overall record for the season, not one game. But following your logic, since Tennessee lost to Vanderbilt a few weeks ago, should Vanderbilt be ranked above TN?

I still think there's a top 7. The voters have identified them. I think there's a gap before Ohio State, Kentucky, et al. As of now, I think we are in the 5-7 range. I have UCLA, ND, and maybe SC at the top.

I would add TX and LSU to your 3 and right now could not pick the final top 4 out of that. The next 4 would include UConn as I believe we could beat either USC or TN on a neutral court. I think how we do in the SC game (close loss) will determine if we end up in the top 10 and maybe even the top 8.
