If he goes to Duke, or any other school, for just one year does he graduate with a Duke or UConn diploma. My daughter transferred to Chapel Hill and it states you need 2 years minimum to get a UNC Chapel Hill diploma.

See what the slicksters from Bristol did? They just took all the negative energy from their CBB bell cow Duke losing it's star player to the NBA and, with a well-placed paragraph or two, transferred it all to UConn.

Disney/ABC/ESPN are masters at this tactic. Not the first time they've done it, and definitely won't be the last...

If he can land Duke, that's great. He has a 3.6 gpa. Maybe even go for Stanford. Make use of your opportunities AO.

He's better off if UConn doesn't get banned if he wants a degree. I can't think any of the credits in the major will transfer to schools like Duke or Stanford.

Do you buy your tinfoil in bulk, or just one jumbo roll at a time?

What a crock of crap.

Come on zls, are you blind?

Everybody sees that Disney/ABC/ESPN promotes and protects its interests in this fashion. In fact it's been going on for decades, across all their various outlets. They will spin anything and everything in their favor if given the chance - even tragedies, when it's convenient. They are ruthless.

What, do you work for them or something?...

Listen man, you'd probably be best served to do what 95% of the board does when I get riled up about Disney: ignore it and move on. Now I'm all set to post examples/links and whatnot and it's the weekend, plus the 'Yard is not the venue to really be laying out all this Disney stuff anyway. Gee, thanks.

But know this: the Walt Disney Corporation is not the wonderful, wholesome entity you apparently think it is. They are not on the level at all, and their issues run very deep.

You can LOL now, but Disney will eventually make you WTF ...

We desperately need a big Man's coach who actually played as a Big Man. I would love to have CV back kicking butt. Miller and George may be good coaches but they don't know the Bigs game.

What's wrong with dook? Its a lateral transfer as opposed to a smaller D1 school. Plus it will benefit his NBA chances. He will also finally bring toughness to dook. I know many think he's UConn soft, but at dook he would be like a beast (which is not saying much).

Sorry Kitamen, but your dreaming.
AO providing toughness to a program is like Snookie providing intelligence to a conversation, even if it is Duke (if we were talking about a debate team, I could see your point)

Mentioned in the article(unnamed source) about Austin Rivers to the NBA, that AO could be speaking to them if he doesn't have to wait out a year. Leaving UCONN to play for Duke would be twisting the knife.

Twisting the knife on who? The people on this board who've disrespected him? Calhoun and coach K are great friends.

Sigh. I would not be happy about that. I understand why he would consider them, especially since they may be losing both plumlee's. I also understand that UConn fans probably hate Duke a lot more than most UConn players nowadays. Still, I'd be really pissed about it.

If Alex ends up at Dook, he's dead to me. :)

I would wish him well wherever he lands. I wish he would stay to redeem himself by having a big senior season after a poor junior one. I hold to my guns that Alex has no one to blame but himself. He has his deficiencies that I pointed out in another thread, but he could have made up for hit with a much higher revving motor, boxing out and working harder on his game.

He had a chance to play for one of the national teams this past summer but chose to stay home. I never understood that. Maybe he had a good reason, but I can't help but wonder if a few weeks playing abroad with some of the best college players could have been good for him.

Here are my two cents: I don't personally wish anything bad on Alex. I'll still remember him as a UConn champion. But if/when he transfers to another school, I'm not going to root for him. It's not about him transferring or which school he chooses. The fact of the matter is that he won't be playing for UConn. I don't root for any school other than UConn to win it all, and so by definition, I won't root for Alex. I hope he has a long, healthy, happy life.....and GO HUSKIES!
