there was talk that noel was leaning toward UK and wanted AO to come with him...hope thats not true...i know we are out of the noel race but i would hate that...wherever AO does go...i hope he flashes that ring around!
I'm sure the Tilton staff isn't exactly in love with UCONN over the Coombs-McDaniel and Oriakhi situations. I doubt we'll ever get another Tilton kid as long as JC is the head coach so I knew Noel would never come here.

If AO gets drafted, how sick to your stomach would you be hearing:

"With the xx pick of the xx round, blah blah selects Alex Oriakhi, Forward, UNC/Kentucky/UCLA/Florida"

Ugh.

Is the point of reference for this post as a Uconn fan or as the fan of the team who drafts him?

To be honest, I'm not sure he'd have to sit. I haven't grasped every nuance, but right now we are banned and are appealing, and I'm not sure he'd have to wait for the appeal process to go through.

This is why I can never consider AO a Husky anymore, national championship or not. If he goes somewhere else, he won't consider himself a Husky either. You need to finish what you start. I don't expect to see him playing in any UCONN alumni charity games in the future either.

There is no way in hell Oriakhi gets drafted. If Adrien didn't get drafted AO doesn't have a prayer.
I don't think he will either, but if Ater Majok got drafted...

He probably couldn't even guard Donyell Marshall

He won't go to Duke because he and his dad are looking for a school where he can be the "man" and showcase his skills as much as possible for the league. It's 90% of the reason he's transferring. This has very little to do with the APR ban. There is no way he's going to a school thats gameplan for the last 7-8 years has been to jack up 30 3's and hope for the best.

Well if that's the case, he better start looking at D3 schools, because his "showcase" is quite underwhelming

I have a feeling AO will pass on being paired up with a highly regarded post grad center... ;)

The venom in this thread toward a college kid who's just doing what he feels is best for his future - and who has already helped bring the program its third national championship - is beyond pathetic.

Some of you need to get out more, or get laid more, or get laid outside more.

I really don't get your posts. I think AO is, at best, a late second round NBA pick and I'm not surprised if he's not drafted and doesn't play in the league. I don't see anyone here talking about him being a significant NBA player. But what I'm reading is you laughing at the notion that he doesn't suck, as opposed to trying to reconcile your view with the fact that big time coaches at big times schools are interested in him.

Because, and I hate to break this to you, typing "lol" does not make the fact that big time coaches think it is possible he can help their programs less relevant to a fair analysis of the situation.

I'll wait to see where he ends up and then we'll talk about it okay? And even if he ends up at a school who watched his hilights rather than what he did this year, let's see how much he played. He has no shot at the NBA as the player he was this year - ZERO buslawyer.......you're not breaking anything to me my friend I'm good with my opinion!

I'll second that...if he does go to a big time program it'll be due to potential alone, it definately won't be due to the skills he showed this season

UNC not looking so hot now. Zeller was a senior and Barnes, Marshall and Henson are all going pro.

Shaky PG situation(Strick isn't a PG and is coming off an ACL tear, Paige will be a freshman, White isn't that good), time would be readily available but not sure if it would be the best fit offensively.

Rumor is that Coleman from PC may transfer. Too bad UConn is in the BE, or Oriakhi could go to PC and Coleman to UConn. LOL Would actually work out pretty well all around.

I think the list of D1 bball transfers this year is already over 200. That's a lot of potential APR points being lost.

On another note, how about the three amigos from Tilton (Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, AO, and Coleman) all transferring out of Big East schools?

ha muconnfan some strong words from the lawyer himself. Oriakhi will get drafted based on his physical attributes alone I said and he will especially if he goes to UNC where he can showcase his talents without fear of making a mistake because Williams is a relaxed coach. It doesnt matter for us anyway he is gone from our team. I am looking forward to watching Scoe and Wolf in the frontcourt :). The Scoe will be unleashed next year.
