Any word on a new HC @ UConn yet?

So I think his point was they would see the football program die before they would leave the Big East again. Even though the Big East isn't what it used to be. They would wine about team travel(in the Big 12) even though they have to travel to Nebraska and Wisconsin now. I don't know if paranoid is the right word, but I do think there is an irrational association with being in the big east as being the basis for our basketball success.

That said, I don't particularly mind it because there are enough road games that are easy commutes.
 
The Smith idea is growing on me, especially if we can retain Sammis. The expectation would be a quick and impressive infusion of talent. However, if that doesn’t happen, we’ll all be in rebellion in 75 days or so.

If he can’t bring the talent, we’ll be wishing we had Cahill.

At the risk of officially overanalyzing, they may have picked our next HC or at least know what's for dinner. 🙃

Seems like a darn good hire that they were able to secure quickly. He has a stellar reputation as a recruiter--and certainly brings a lot of credibility given his role and success at Ohio State. Time will tell, but that hire was done quickly for a coach that is in demand.

I think it speaks very highly of USF and the perception of their program. When conference realignment happens again, they are going to be a problem--new on campus stadium, location and right now, stability.

If they posted openings for assistant coaches, it would be to replace guys who informed the school they're leaving, most likely to join Mora in Ft Collins.

The timing is somewhat curious as logically the new head coach should be heavily involved in hiring his assistants. Unless the theory is to allow the new head coach, once he is hired to be able to immediately add assistants, there really is little reason to post these positions now.

I imagine that rumors will leak before long that we hired our next head coach and early next week the job opening will be posted.
