Mullen is making $3.5 million. Mora was increased to $2.5 million last year. Chief mentioned that another increase was negotiated before Mora left but it stalled with Radenka Maric. So possibly there will be more money.

But aren't guys with jobs that are still coaching committing to their new gigs right now? USF (who lost their coach after we lost ours) just hired the Ohio State OC who is still coaching in the playoffs.
So would not give Mora increase but Radenka will give Mullen $1 million increase? Why are we even discussing this. I think the next head coach is one of the two FCS coaches still in the playoffs.
Only Rutgers could mismanage getting into one of the two premier conferences. They needed to dramatically upgrade facilities, and still do, and borrowed against future payouts. That put them in a hole that they are still working to dig their way out of.

Agree, yet I am reflexively checking the football board. I suspect the next time we hear anything it will be the listing of the position, which will lead people to parsing the qualifications to determine who the candidate is.
I read it was a financial issue where they couldn’t handle the buyout. There may have been a political issue to about Nevada not getting an invite. They are apparently having major money issues. There was even a rumor that they are negotiating with their coach over salary, though I doubt that is true.
Yeah, I get that we don't want anything out before the deal is done, but the question is why are we not getting the deal done??
Long story short, there is process that is still at play, and while we wait for said processing of possible candidates (who may or may not have been mentioned), we are left to wonder other truly pressing questions like does Joanie really love Chachi and if a BCU football fan cries in the woods, does anybody really care if there's a sound?

Spot on mate. I learned this phrase a long time ago and love it: accuracy is speed. AD David Benedict takes his time (but not tooooo long) and gets this hire right, and we can breathe a little easier until the next losing streak.
