Andrew Luck Retires

And the crazy thing is, you now have people calling NBA players "soft" because they don't want to participate in FIBA tourneys or whatever. Folks, we need to slow it down with these accusations of "soft", etc. This is getting a bit too crazy. Imagine: Calling a pro athlete "soft'.

I don't know how there are still people who out there who haven't come around when it comes to this kind of situation. Players see the realities of CTE (at worst) or barely being able to move and having every inch of your body hurt for the rest of your live (at best).

Then again, most are from the generation who belittle mental health issues and avoid going to a doctor at all cost; as if not taking care of yourself is some foolish badge of honor. Sports are not the be all, end all they once were for many. Younger generations, especially the stars who can earn generational wealth in a single contract, aren't going to sign up for a life of CTE, painkillers, or a wheelchair by the time they hit 50.

Rumor is colts didn't go after money cause they think there a chance he will come back after a year off

Too many posts to read through... at the end of the day Luck is 29 years old, has a Stanford degree, (presumably) millions in the bank and is now retired. Good for him. I expect him to make even more money in the next chapter of his life, and if he doesn't he will still live comfortably.

No one becomes a multi-million dollar earner in their field of expertise because they're soft.
