Americans Abroad

What a week for Pulisic. He really is so fun to watch when he is in attack mode. Best man on the pitch today. Really happy for him. Pissed at myself for starting to like Chelsea.

Other than the fact that he shows Mount a little favoritism, I can’t find too much fault with Lampard. With the transfer ban they have to use their young talent so there is some appeal there.

I don't even think that's a fault. He's Frank's guy and has played well when I've seen him. But isn't that the way a good coach is supposed to do it? You give a guy a chance to sub in and when he shows something you give him a start. And then he pays you back with a great game. That's the sign of a healthy team.

Mount has had long stretches where he was as lackluster as Pulisic but he was still getting the call. It’s been pointed out across many platforms and not just by US fans.

But I understand why Frank would give him the nod early, they have a prior relationship and he knows his game. I was impressed that he gave Pulisic the start, it was the right thing to do given how big that Ajax win was. Seven on the trot.

For Pulisic, this is a blessing. The year after it seemed like he started every match for Dortmund, he was physically a mess.

.-.
US U17 is getting lambasted by the supposed ‘worst team in the group’ Senegal U17’s. Down 4-1 late and just getting out-everythinged. Gio Reyna not getting any breathing room the few times he’s gotten the ball.

Pulisic MOTM again against Watford with a goal. I guess he just needed to settle in. Boy did some people (me included) sort of freak out a bit prematurely.
Count me as one who prematurely freaked. Went from bashing Lampard to praising him equally as quick.

He did look awful his first few PL games, but of course very happy for him to find his confidence

It also takes a while for Euro professionals to have confidence in a 20yr old American.

No talk of the wild Chelsea/Ajax game? Pulisic drew a penalty, and netted a hockey assist on the second goal that may have gone in anyways without the last touch.

All the red cards were prertty wild. I'd probably be pissed if I was an Ajax fan.

I'm an AJAX fan.

Anyone else stunned (all be it very pleasantly) Dest chose USMNT? Very happy. Love that he stuck with the country that selected him throughout his maturation.

I feel sorry for him. The horizon looks bleak.

Pulisic MOTM again.

Another really nice goal. He’s on a roll.

This Chelsea team is really fun to watch.

It woudl be much better if this wasn't Chelsea :(
I went into the season thinking that but I've found rooting for Chelsea to much less traumatic than I thought. My 2nd favorite EPL team in a given year is subject to change anyway, especially when they get relegated.

Will be interesting to see if Pulisic makes the next USMNT game. He hit his hip pretty good on that goal and was subbed off with a limp.

Same. I was critical of Lampard early, but the results are very impressive. Love the style of play too... fun to watch. The way my team is palying right now, they may get relegated this year (;)), I might need to find a PL level team to support next season until Spurs get promoted.

Tottenham may get relegated this year? As an Arsenal fan, all I can say is hold my beer. :confused:The North London Derby being played in the Championship League just does not have the same ring, does it? Fortunately for both of our teams, Man U may beat us both to the bottom.

He has been ruled out. Hopefully Gregggy will get fired.

You kidding? It's an opportunity for more MLS teams to be represented on the USMNT team Just think, for $300 Million, you can have a player from your brand-new MLS franchise in Any City USA be on the roster of the USMNT, too! Just think of the marketing opportunities and ticket sales. Jay will give Gregg a raise for this shrewd move.

Pulisic doesn't need Berhalter's crap at this point in time. I'm sure his diet will be fine.

Pulisic goal with VAR-reviewed goal versus Valencia

2nd Yank with 3 UEFA Champions League goals; 1st with an English team
