well i guess you’ve been through it many times and seem to know a better than I do have a live there for 50 years
Not saying anything close to that

I see a distinct lack of refutation of my point here

Self is awful in the transfer portal, kids not working out

Nobody else is in the same stratosphere

Easy choice

PS: Are people really giving our coaching staff advice about the portal? Too funny

Get out of class, fill up a flask, pregame on the train… you never get drunk on the train going in to NY for a game?
Sure, but that train ride would take about the same amount of time as it would take to go from UConn Stamford into New York. You're pitching this notion that somehow New Brunswick is proximate to New York. It isn't.

I really don't know squat about New Brunswick or Piscataway, but culturally, you'd have a hard time tell Stamford residents they're not proximate to NYC. Especially older ones. Pre-cable, we only got NYC stations. Channels 8 and 3 were nothing but snow. Everyone read one of the three NY dailies. And you could get from Stamford to Shea in 45 minutes into the mid-80s. Which I believe was faster than taking the subway from Upper Harlem to Shea.

Absolutely. Stamford is NYC all the way.

I pretty much still only get NY Channels in Ffld. Cty to this day with Comcast. 8 and 3 are non HD and its like a time warp watching that.

Everyone I've known from Stamford is a Mets fan.

If it only takes you 45 minutes to get into the city then that would be about 20 minutes faster than it takes to get from New Brunswick to Manhattan. The point is that New Brunswick isn't right next-door to New York City like it's being portrayed. It's a little over an hour away on a commuter train.

For what it’s worth, I think we’re all old and out of touch

I live near New Brunswick and commute into NYC pretty often for work. Every adult I tell that to thinks I’m insane

That same NJ Transit station is packed every Friday night with college kids going to NYC for the weekend

Maybe recruits are looking at the fact that even with two top 5 picks, RU still couldn't make the ncaa tourney.
Or, announcing a new president, then hiring a new AD, and potentially not too far away from possibly replacing Pikiell if Rutgers once again fails to qualify for March Madness. Or, is Steve not on a hot seat?

I have to say, I love the word "statosphere"... it's that imaginary place where Boneyarders hurl random stats back and forth in an effort to refute their BY foes and run up their all-important reaction scores.

Either that, or just another typo

Funny. My son was just here from LA with my 9 and 12 year old grandchildren. We took the train for a day in NYC. When we got to Stamford I told them it was kind of a little New York.
