Lmaooo my in laws live in Cheshire and my wife and I shacked up with them for a few months when we moved back here from CA. Hamden has some solid spots. Love mikro, brgrko up to their closing last year, Antonio’s, Sergio’s, Bangkok Blvd, and Lucca.

The land of “fine dining” is not exactly what I would call Hamden lol. It’s solid for what it is; a small, nondescript, daisy-white hamlet built around a small private college. If I went to Quinnipiac I would be going in to New Haven for just about everything, especially in the realm of “fine dining”.

New York, however, is of course one of the fine dining capitals of the world.

Sigh... my daughter is going to Rutgers so I HAVE to make the trip whenever she needs to get back Sunday nights.

wouldnt he get more exposure playing even as a backup at UConn or Kansas if those offers were legit?

New Haven is what I meant.

Saying Rutgers/New York in the same sentence suggests you were apart of the committee that voted them into the Big Ten.

Oh trust, I’ve been through Hamden many times. Been down to the strip malls and Wood N Tap plenty. I’m talking about the area around Quinnipiac, hence the specific list of restaurants. That’s what constitutes the student experience, and yes, that’s exactly what that part of Hamden is.

No, just a native who understands NJ Transit.

Appreciate the clarification though. Personally, I’d rather take a train to Hoboken/JC/NY for a night out than drive 20 minutes to New Haven. But that’s just me.

Rutgers really doesn't have a "campus" in New Brunswick. It has five separate campuses there. Even their campus tour makes you ride a bus from campus to campus. It's actually a decent school, but it has a curb appeal problem.

Absolutely, I remember well, and it’s a big reason I didn’t want to go. But if I were a big man on campus and had B1G NIL, and easy access to the NY metro, I’m going with that over Hamden

That easy access you're talking about is a little over an hour on a commuter train. It's not like you're taking a short subway hop from New Brunswick to NYC.
 
Maybe I am wrong but a player who was put off by one of the top programs because he was not priority #1 seems like he is afraid of competing for playing time and wants it handed to him. Not our kind of player.
