He's a ****ing moron.

I'm sorry, shouldn't you be busy waxing poetic about a 1925 UConn football team nobody on Earth cares about?

Hmmmmm, so---passing is the only thing point guards do. WOW! Talk about stupid.

Name me one thing that Shabazz does better than every other PG UConn has ever had aside from Kemba. This should be rich.

Better than being a ****ing moron. And it was 1924, not 1925. ****ing moron.

This made me laugh. I mean, you're completely wrong and the one of us trying to rip people off for a crappy football fob just because you were the gullible sucker who paid more than $6.50 for it in the first place, but that was funny.

Do you have any idea how valuable the sports memorabilia market can be? And it's made of gold. ****ing moron.

There were people who wanted it. Just didn't have the cash.

If it's so valuable, how come you were trying to sell it in a chat room?

PS- I've actually got quite a bit of valuable sports memorabilia. The key is buying things that have value as sports memorabilia, not because of what they're made of. You can buy a gold-plated UMass Golf Bag, and it still isn't worth a thing on the open market unless you melt the sucker down.

A message board is not a chat room. ****ing moron. I was looking for money quickly. Didn't have the time for auction houses, etc.

I'm scratching my head here.

Calhoun helped kids like Knight and Voskuhl have NBA careers. Neither were a given coming into college. Okafor improved immensely at UConn and became rich. What about Hasheem Thabeet?

I mean, the record of big men developing at UConn is pretty good, comparatively, no?

What other schools do a better job? Georgetown? Yes, that's one. Any more?

Lets not forget what Calhoun was able to do with Hilton Armstrong...he went from riding the pine most of his career to a first round pick. Also Andrew Bynum was about to commit to UCONN as well if he decided to go to college, he could have picked any school he wanted but he chose UCONN for a reason...and the most blatant piece of evidence is right before our eyes. the transformation of Drummond into a beast. Yes he still has his ups and downs and needs to work more on his game but he is about to set the record for most double doubles' as a UCONN freshman and his stats against Big East teams are better than his season stats overall, which is amazing!. Calhoun and his system do develop bigs. The system is not without its flaws but thats bc calhoun is a human, as humans we are always changing, developing, and progressing (for the most part) even Calhoun admitted he changed his coaching method last year and look what the resulted in? Oriakhi hasn't responded well to Calhoun's tough love, but Clahoun/Blaney have been giving him more time recently and his numbers/play/attitude have improved. Oriakhi has talent thats undeniable. he was invitd to amare's camp over the summer and also made the US national team (I believe; the one shabazz almost made; and the one oriakhi declined to participate in so he can work on his game more!). I believe we will see a huge improvement in Alex's play if not by the end of this year then def by next year.

If you guys are going to take over this thread with childish back and forth, please at least provide a backdrop so we can laugh along with you.

You really have no knowledge of the fob market. The woman who sold it to me from Ontario was upset she didn't know what it was when I bought it and I told her what it was.

It's about some little gold football that has the block "C" that we we use now and was awarded to a member of the 1924 Connecticut Agricultural College football team for an undefeated season. Some people just don't appreciate the history of their own teams they supposedly cheer for. Bandwagoners.

100th isn't close to Alex coming out though.....skinny, not much around the hoop coming in.....very effective coming out.....Jake was a secondary recruit as JC was interested in the shooter that transferred to Vandy (Im old forget stuff now....Michael ?) and these guys both did what it takes to make the team better, rebound, set great screens standing still mind you, rebound and defend.....not close

michael leblanc; JC loved him and then hated him. wasn't trying to make any sort of comparison between AO and Knight, I just see the misconception around here from time to time that JC constantly finds these completely unknown big men and makes them a pro. Travis was very well known and was the jewel of the class before scouts soured on him b/c he was a floater. Guys like Jake, Emeka, Boone were all ranked in the top 80-130 lists so they were definitely known; albeit not the same as AO who somehow was a McD AA. Boo and Hilton were total wild cards so credit is due there.

Ah, so - got it.

Completely different.

You have 950 posts on a message board in 6 months. You should not be talking about anyone's Internet usage being disturbing. Face the facts you have no life.

lol.

I was actually acknowledging the difference and this is the result.

Every time I try to be nice, some chucklehead gets his undies in a bunch.

Sorry, your general sarcastic holier than know attitude lead me to assume that in this instance you were being your usually douchey self. I apologize for assuming such.

It's not really 'holier than thou', it's more "I can't believe I am forced to share the planet with people this dumb". And I usually put more effort into the douchiness to really make it pop - you can't go subtle with douchey.

Apology accepted.

Ridiculous and asinine. Marcus Williams and AJ Price on their worst day were 10 times the passer that Shabazz is on his best.
Marcus Williams was obviously a better passer than Napier. No doubt. But Marcus was terrible on defense (much much worse than Napier) and only was able to get into the lane because the defense couldn't cheat off of other players to cut him off.

AJ Price:
06-07: 3.6 apg
07-08: 5.8 apg
08-09: 4.7 apg

Shabazz Napier:
10-11: 3.0 apg
11-12: 5.9 apg

Seems like he's just as good a passer as AJ. If I had to pick a player for this team, I'd pick AJ, and then probably a healthy Napier over MW (need more scoring that MW really ever gave).

AO's dad is entitled to react as a dad.

He's off the duck*ing wall and he couldn't reach reality with a one-iron from where he currently stands, but he is entitled to react the way he did.

But really now -- who can hit a one iron anywhere.

Guy clearly struggles with the English language but he is not a fan of Calhoun:

It is all coach Calhoun is fault. He treated the kids like sub-human by knocking the kids heads against one another the end result was dead faces. This is the first time they played together as a team

It was all coach Calhoun fault. Treating kids they were in marine corps. Set kids against each other. Today is a Self evidence that coach Cal

u cannot win a game without ball movement. Pg alone connot win a game. Pass the ball don't try to be a hero. The bigman are not involved they don't get the ball when they are wide open. Same **** last season. No wonder Uconn bigmen don't do too well at the next level. Am very critical the way huskies play their bigmen offensively
Wow, Now I know where Alex gets his sense of entitlement....this combined with the Uconn Blog drama earlier this year and his sisters comments online.....this family needs a reality check.

I have a friend with season tickets, and in most years, the seats are right behind the bench. I was lucky enough to go to many games. As much as I dislike hearing Calhoun yell at the players, I NEVER heard him make it personal.

He'd yank a kid for doing something stupid, and yell at him, saying something like, "you cover your man 90% of the time, what the **** was that I just saw? 90% means means you sit on the goshdarn bench and think about the other ******** 10%."

One of my favorites was (paraphrasing), "even their walk-ons haven't taken a shot that stupid."

It was interesting to see the difference between a regular season game and a playoff game. Regular season games, he seems to view as teachable moments. Once the playoffs start, I really didn't see the yelling.

Blaney is the coach who works with the bigs (at practice)...guess we're back to THAT again!

i wouldnt necessarily say he lost, in fact i think he matched wits with him pretty well.

I meant to visit the Boneyard, but apparently I've stumbled into an episode of Storage Wars.

If this was a year ago i wouldnt be surprised if we saw Alex transfer like his buddy Jamal Coombs-McDaniel. Now that he only has one year left he probably sticks it out even with the NCAA BS

I was thinking the same thing. But when the comments get back to Calhoun, maybe Alex will be "encouraged" to take a year off and finish up at another school. UMess would take him in a heartbeat.
