That's what happens when you're 6'9 with a bad attitude and can't make a layup. Oh and if did end up making a D league roster and wasn't getting any PT... his dad would write about how bad the organization is in the local papers.
I was just about to post he was mediocre with a bad attitude to boot. However, you beat me to it!

^ So true.

I think people feel more strongly about AO because his dad was/is such a p-rick and he left us with nothing at the 5 spot. I really do not think he was a bad person at all- most likely somewhere in the middle of kids that come here- but he sure did get some bad advice (although at the time I can see why he did what he did).

I wish him nothing but the best- he helped deliver to UCONN fans what may be the greatest surprise in Men's basketball history and I will forever grateful to him for the role he played. That is what us fans need to remember when his name comes up- not the negative stuff.

I enjoy a good AO ripping joke every now and then (who doesn't?) but on a serious level I do wish him well and hope he can somehow catch on with a team in the NBA.

It's not really my thing to revel in the misfortunes of a 22 year old, particularly when there have been far, far more unlikable kids to come through the program - Alex is actually a smart, pleasant kid to be around - but I will say I sincerely hope this kid catches on in the league only because I know how much it'll piss some of you off.

Good for you!!! But good news is we'll never be pissed off because he's awful and he won't make it!!;)

My loyalty is to the program. Kids change their minds about lots of things all the time, they also tell their parents to Shut Up on occasion. Had Alex simply left, had he made it clear that he did not appreciate his father's comments, I would harbor no ill feelings towards him. Instead, he ripped the coach and the program, so for as long as he was playing college ball, where his comments would be repeated again and again by the media, I hated him. But now he's done and I wish him well in his future.

I want to feel badly for him a little bit. I don't. I agree with those who said in the long run we were better off without him. In the season of ten toes in, he would have been the angry toe:

He was the little piggy that went wee wee wee wee all the way to Missouri

I don't feel bad for the guy, if you're not good enough so be it. But we don't win NC3 without him. Fact. I wish him the best.

So you know he is smart, ok, what does that mean in the world of "smartness". Tell me how his smartness and bad mouthing Uconn and JC go together, as in smart move or he's smart but that wasn't smart to do or what? As far as pleasant to be around, like a good guy to pass the bowl or read poetry with or what?

He helped UConn win the national championship in 2011. I wish him well. My guess is that he plays overseas. NBA body, overseas skill set.

Didn't someone once say he had the body of Tarzan, but the game of Jane? I thought that was pretty hysterical, even if a bit untrue.
