Simple, really. No one plays more than 25mpg and he gets 20.
That would work. Will be interesting to see as DH hasn’t really distributed minutes like that the last few seasons. Obviously completely different personnel but the starters tend to play closer to 30 it seems like.

The two offseasons leading to our last two natties, I had a tough time making any expectations with the team. First ship came out of the blue a bit, second one was tough to read given the amount of players we lost.
Now with AK back I can finally make some expectations for the upcoming team and it's way more clear.

In Hurley we trust.

I think we'll see Ross before Abraham (but I have never seen Abraham play). He just looks like he knows what he's doing out there in the few minutes he got and wasn't afraid. I'm hoping he makes a decent sophomore jump and forces Hurley to have to use a 10 man rotation. Not likely but it would be fun.

Agreed, Ross will get the kind of minutes Stewart and Ball got this year (8.9 and 11.5 mpg respectively). Important for his development.

80 minutes to share at the forward spots. 30 for Karaban, 24 for Stewart, 18 for McNeeley, 8 for Ross - something like that. I think Abraham learns in practice like Ross did this year.

In 2023, the team was deep in the traditional way, in which we had 3-4 bench players that could come in with limited drop off and the ability to affect the game.

In 2024, we only really had a 7-man rotation, but were deep in such that the starting 5 were ALL exceptional and any one, two, three, four and/or five guys could dominate in any given game (and our 6th man had almost no drop off)

2025 might see a combination of this if the new players are as advertised, the returning sophomores make the expected jump, and the teams gels. We could have a deadly starting five AND a bench that goes 5-deep.

Crazy.

I'd somehow convinced myself he was gone.

With him back, we have the much underrated "continuity" factor in our favor again.

It feels like the Wagon of Storrs is still rolling at full speed.

are we at all worried about any of these guys jumping in the portal next year? I really hope we can keep mcneeley but who knows if he'll get upset from having limited minutes.
lol hes going to get plenty of minutes. Playing time will not be a problem.

Alex explains himself. Hopefully not a duplicate. Field of 68 grills him. ;)

I dont know if we will repeat but i am 1000% certain this team is going to be one of the toughest outs in the history of the game. Uconn has the roster now to match up with anyone but what separates this program is the system and the coaching staff. Every single coach across the country needs to write on their chalkboard that the #1 priority is to figure out the Uconn problem because its not going to matter how many talented players you have someone has to figure out how to deal with the Uconn offense. This has been the reason we`ve run through the tourney the last two seasons. While the big east teams get to see us regularly they atleast know what theyre in for while these teams nationally look at the tape and are like "yeah, yeah theyre really good we see what theyre doing we got this". Problem is its one thing seeing Uconn and its a whole other ball game actually playing against Uconn. If coaches across the country havent prioritized and come up with how to deal with Uconn we may see yet another dominating run through the tournament.

I don't think anyone earns a starting position from what they accomplished the year before. Mahaney and McNeeley weren't on the team last season and I think they will most likely be two of our three best players.

Diarra will play plenty but I think Mahaney will be our starting point guard. Ball and Diarra will play a lot with him.
Mahaney is definitely more of a combo guard that will he out starting 2. Diarra is starting at pg with nowell as the backup. No way are we going to have nowell as 3rd string pg. Ball will backup at sg.

I assumed he’d slip into the first round, and that would be that. Is it November yet? Can’t wait for next season

They talked about Tarris Reed and i watched a lot of his film and his footwork is top tier, his touch around the basket is top tier, he can run the floor, is better than average athlete and appears to play hard. Seems like a victim of a coaching situation which will not be a concern here. He wasnt in bad shape but he needs to get in the best shape hes ever been and learn the system and he will be off and running. I expect him to get better as the season goes and by 2026 he`ll be in the running for CPOY. This is if he wants to put in the work because the talent is there. If he can develop a shot he really reminds me of Al Horford.
