Albany game thread

Gambling defense is giving up open looks, but the offense is cooking. Once Lou gets hot, we'll REALLY score.

They have the resume of a middle of the 15 seed line team, but they are within driving distance so lets move them down 6 spots.
 
I wouldn't worry too much about giving up 16 points. UConn is clearly working on their pressure D in the 1st qtr, and that's going to give up some open shots. At the same time it speeds up the game to UConn's liking

From what I read, Albany had a higher RPI than all other 16 seeds and two 15 seeds. They come in here 6 tines in a row and
win their conference. Of course, put them in Bridgeport

They wanted a team that could stay within 50 points of the lead.

UConn is always going to get the opponent's best effort at the beginning of each half. After all, it's win or go home. It's sustaining that effort for an entire game that's the problem.
 
37 points, yet offense wasn't always in sync. Wow. Energy was a tad off in the first three minutes, but plenty enough to do the job. Huskies getting steals right from the hands of the dribbler. UA guards bring the ball chest high to start a pass, but at that point the ball is stolen and heading the other way.

They were a 12 last year. They have a new coach this year and started slowly, but they look more like a 12-14.
 
Whoever plays UConn, in the first round, should get an automatic Round 1 Bye for the WNIT.

Nat gets in and I don't see her anywhere near the basket on defense most of the time.
 
Second period is sloppy. Lou goes after a rebound that is headed out and it slips out of her hand. Pheesa missed 2 in a row being too far underneath. Nat walks before a layup. Let's get focused again.
 
I love you Nat but....
 
UConn stopped shooting well when Pheese hit the bench.
