Alabama @ Tennessee - 2/15/18

I am so sick of hearing how great the SEC is. They aren’t. They have a few good teams at the top of the conference but the rest of the conference is no different than the AAC..

If only there was a way to compare teams from different conferences with different schedules.

Oh right there is.

Looks like Mr. Hyde showed up tonight in Knoxville. Tennessee looked lifeless in the last 4 minutes of this game. Tennessee will not go far in the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee is not a TOP 10 team, questionable if they are even a top 15 team. I don't know why the studio analysts are so stunned that Tennessee lost?

Possibly because Alabama is just not a very good team. They literally have 1 good win this year - over LSU - and losses to Elon, Auburn, Kentucky, Arkansas, and they managed to squeak past a terrible Ole Miss (last place in SEC) team by 3 points...

.-.
She was generalizing that the SEC games are all tougher games than UConn's 4 AAC games, I think.

I like Debbie, but it's not much of a point.

MS States win probabilities against their final four opponents (sorted by size) are

99%, 99%, 97% and 94%.

If MS State played UConns opponents the win probabilities would be:

100%, 100%, 99%, 94%

Not much difference.

There's nothing like sitting home suffering from the flu and turning the TV on with 5 minutes left and seeing Tennessee losing. UT, as pointed out above, looked lifeless. They were playing like they'd already lost the game. Then, when they had, they kept fouling as though there was a chance.

Alabama had lost 6 of their last 8 games. The two games they won were over triple digit ranked teams, with one a 3 point win and the other a 2 point win. So not only are they terrible, they have been even worse lately.

.-.
but with Tenn loosing badly against Al there is no chance for them to be around when UConn plays 3 & 4 round.
Also what,s wrong with Md? They were not that bad when UConn played them earlier?

Florida leading TAMU, but TAMU will probably wake up soon.

HeyBoots, take care of yourself. This cold/flu virus cycle is a real threat. Lots of fruits, fluids and rest. If you chose an orange screwdriver, you knock off the first two. A couple more screwdrivers takes care of the third. :)

Seriously, take care...

It's just one game. It doesn't mean they have no chance. TN is still going to be hosting the first two rounds barring a complete collapse down the stretch.

I wouldn't say MD is a bad team. They're just not as dominant (relative to their conference) as in previous years. Purdue isn't chopped liver either. I watched them beat Rutgers and Iowa and came away impressed. They're athletic, they have good length, and they play hard.

I've also spent the past 3 days suffering through the flu. This Vol loss has suddenly bolstered my vol-ition to recover. Sorry couldn't help it.

What’s wrong if UConn meets them on 2nd round?

I have a vol-uminous appreciation for puns, even bad ones as you can plainly see. Get better soon. the season is not over!

Did not know that the flu had spread to Planet 10. Get well soon.

That would mean a visit to Connecticut for the Lady Vols, highly unlikely

When was the last time they were in CT? 05? 06?

Duke had a 9 point lead late, gave up a 14-2 run to Syracuse, then missed 4 tries from beyond the arc to tie it up. Another ranked team bites the dust.

I saw the Blue Devils up by 9 and switched channels. As unlucky as I was lucky with the TN game.

I think the loss neither makes it less or more likely that we'll meet.
But they may not make it that far even if the are placed in our in our region.

I don’t think I have the “popular” strain. My big problem is that I haven’t slept to speak of in three nights due to coughing and sweating. I hope to be running by Sunday, but I won’t be stupid about it.

Thanks for the well wishes from you and others.
