I realize this is trolling but there is no way you typed that with a straight face. Other than their out of conference foes UConn basically has a break from the end of December until tournament time.
I'm absolutely serious. In fact, Cincinnati is ahead of Alabama in Massey.

Horrible loss. Vic has no clue who should be playing. Teams continue to play a zone yet he still runs that same dribble drive offense against that zone with two guards who are terrified to even attempt a three point shot. Makes no sense at all for both Myah Taylor and Jordan to be in the game together...especially when teams are playing zone against them. AEH is one of the few pure shooters on the team yet he has absolutely destroyed her confidence....just destroyed it. She hadn't played he entire second half yet he throws her out there with only seconds left in the game and expects her to make a play. I'm shocked she even hit one free throw after being glued to the bench for so long. Vic had a once in a generation player in Big T and at one point she was surrounded by a pure scorer in Victoria Vivians and a dynamic do it all point guard in Morgan William yet Vic didn't win a ring with that talent. Big T covered up a lot of Vic's short comings as a coach and now that she is gone I wouldn't be surprised if they lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

How can you tell me the play is fine when they really do not run a play at all? They all just stood there basically. They were pretty lucky to even get a shot off.

Right. “They all just stood there...”. That is the problem. Again, that obviously all starts and stops with his ability to get them motivated. However what play call are you specifically referencing?

Need shooting and Espinoza-Hunter barely plays again: 1 point, 1 rebound

Because she is shooting poorly with a lot of wide open shots and her defense isn't very good. Matharu would be nice to go to but she has gotten worse down the stretch this year with taking good shots.

They need more shooters. Wiggins is great defensively but isn't a very consistent shooter.

1-2 from FT
She did get that key offensive rebound and, but for a missed free throw, might have won the game for her team.

It's obvious now that Vic has something personal against AEH. He would have you think he doesn't play her because of her defense yet she's improved a lot defensively and for some reason he keeps playing Myah Taylor although she is absolutely horrible offensively and on defense she routinely let's players go right around her just like she let that Bama guard blow by her on that last possession which allowed the tip in to occur.

Good thing is Kentucky lost today which means even if we lose to Arkansas, we'll be no worse than the #3 in SEC Tourney.

I would've bought the wrong timeslot tickets if we were any lower than #3.

Unless we lose to Ole Miss

I was referring to The play drawn up at the end of the game today and the play drawn up at the end of the Auburn game before OT.

Everyone just stood there coming out the timeout. I just don't understand how that happens. Unless the entire team has amnesia.

Yikes pretty awful loss for Mississippi State. Theyve had a few close calls so they were finally due for a bad loss. Always seems like this time of year we get a lot of separation between contenders and pretenders.

Obviously it all ends with him. However the plays have been fine. The players just aren’t executing. There is no way Alabama should have been close in this game. MSU hasn’t been playing with any consistent intensity. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for them.
Agree, game should have been easy but we seem to lack the will to win. The freshmen appear to be the players that gut it out for us. Our experienced players chocked!

Sorry but the only reason that anyone would not talk about the weakness of your conference is because it is as certain as death and taxes.

And my point, which is backed up by the hard data, is that this talking point is far overblown, especially when Mississippi State can't put away an SEC team that's the fair-market equivalent of Cincinnati.

I don't see it.

But they need changes as a whole. Upperclassmen can't seem to lead the team down the stretch when things get tough.

We were never a contender this year. If we could get to the elite 8, we'll call this an overachieving season. And if we can get to the final 4, we'll be crowing all offseason about how we're gonna be the team to beat next year.

Obviously I am disappointed as are many of the other fans. However as I have posted earlier I was concerned that nobody has consistently separated them from the others on this team. The exceptions may be R Jackson and J Carter. However even Carter has not been completely consistent. Of course she is also playing out of position. Otherwise it has been a mix and match with the rest of the players. Obviously J Danberry is not the type of personality that is going to carry the team emotionally. I think the reason Mississippi State was ranked so high at the beginning of the year is because of the name on the jersey and how consistently they have performed over the last few years. They still have a very good record but they simply do not have the type of team they have had in years past.

I agree with this. I think he actually personally likes her a lot and he has made comments about her energy and the way she supports her team. I think it is simply a matter of the limitations in her physical ability.

In all fairness, this loss *seems* worse than it actually is because Mississippi State has been such a model of consistency for several years now.

Most teams in the top 20 have a loss or two like this. The SEC is in a down year overall, so it's not like this matters much in the conference race.

Sorry, but why would this help? MSU is still 2 games ahead of A&M.

If Arkansas, A&M, and MSU tie for 2nd place.... I don't know how that breaks the tie.

Best thing is to eliminate A&M from being able to contend for 2nd place altogether. I'm ok with being the #3 team in the SEC, but not the #4 team.

Unless you know the tiebreaker rules.

AEH continues to be in Vic's Dog House. What a difference for AEH from last season to this season

.-.
Miss St had the advantage on most stats with the Exception of Three Point Shooting. That's where Miss St lost the game. Bama 9-14 on three point shooting, Miss St 1-8. Thats an 8 point difference in a two point game.

Ah, I see.

I don't know the SEC's specific tiebreaker rules, but in most conferences it's usually (1) head to head, and if they're tied on H2H it's (2) whichever team has the best in-conference win.

Margin of victory against common opponent (which I gathered you were suggesting) rarely if ever is used as a tiebreaker AFAIK. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

MSU should just beat Arkansas and Ole Miss to remove any doubt.

Miss St needs 3 point shooters. They miss so many wide open shots.

They also seem to be getting worse or much more inconsistent down the stretch.

Vic has one in AEH, but he has ripped her confidence totally apart. Horrible job of coaching this season by Vic

Miss St lost most of their starters from last season (including arguably their best player in school history) and are leaning on freshmen and sophomores to carry the team. I think they are doing a little bit better than most expected this year.

As for AEH. She had the luxury of hitting WIDE open shots last year as a spot up shooter w/ Bibby while McCowan and Howard terrorized the paint. Its much different this year now. The wide open shots she had she has missed. The rest of the shots are now much more difficult without the post presence. She isn't very active rebounding or creating assists for teammates. So it begs the question of why does she deserves so much playing time as you are implying? I agree they should give her a shot to get things sparked up on offense but if she isn't going to score, get beat defensively, why is she out there? M. Taylor, who is pretty inept offensively is creating assists for her team, steals, taking charges. She is at least contributing to other aspects to the game, which is why she is out there. AEH's biggest attribute is scoring and she has not done it much this year.

I like AEH and hope she can finish the year on a tear but if she wants more time she has to step up when the opportunity presents itself.

I agree. Elite 8 would be a great accomplishment for this group. Was mostly highlighting that you start to see clearer separation this time of year between the elite and the rest of the pack. Lots of good teams losing games they shouldnt be.
