Danberry while a good player does not appear to be a leader in any sense of the word. Neither is Bibby.
Jackson is a Freshman so she does not have the experience yet to be the Leader.

At this point I will be happy if we make it to the Sweet Sixteen.Even that is doubtful at this point.

Obviously it all ends with him. However the plays have been fine

How can you tell me the play is fine when they really do not run a play at all? They all just stood there basically. They were pretty lucky to even get a shot off.

Okay, I seriously never want to hear another snide comment about the conference UConn plays in.

This would be the equivalent of losing to Cincinnati.
I realize this is trolling but there is no way you typed that with a straight face. Other than their out of conference foes UConn basically has a break from the end of December until tournament time.

I'm absolutely serious. In fact, Cincinnati is ahead of Alabama in Massey.

Horrible loss. Vic has no clue who should be playing. Teams continue to play a zone yet he still runs that same dribble drive offense against that zone with two guards who are terrified to even attempt a three point shot. Makes no sense at all for both Myah Taylor and Jordan to be in the game together...especially when teams are playing zone against them. AEH is one of the few pure shooters on the team yet he has absolutely destroyed her confidence....just destroyed it. She hadn't played he entire second half yet he throws her out there with only seconds left in the game and expects her to make a play. I'm shocked she even hit one free throw after being glued to the bench for so long. Vic had a once in a generation player in Big T and at one point she was surrounded by a pure scorer in Victoria Vivians and a dynamic do it all point guard in Morgan William yet Vic didn't win a ring with that talent. Big T covered up a lot of Vic's short comings as a coach and now that she is gone I wouldn't be surprised if they lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Right. “They all just stood there...”. That is the problem. Again, that obviously all starts and stops with his ability to get them motivated. However what play call are you specifically referencing?

Because she is shooting poorly with a lot of wide open shots and her defense isn't very good. Matharu would be nice to go to but she has gotten worse down the stretch this year with taking good shots.

They need more shooters. Wiggins is great defensively but isn't a very consistent shooter.

1-2 from FT
She did get that key offensive rebound and, but for a missed free throw, might have won the game for her team.

It's obvious now that Vic has something personal against AEH. He would have you think he doesn't play her because of her defense yet she's improved a lot defensively and for some reason he keeps playing Myah Taylor although she is absolutely horrible offensively and on defense she routinely let's players go right around her just like she let that Bama guard blow by her on that last possession which allowed the tip in to occur.

Good thing is Kentucky lost today which means even if we lose to Arkansas, we'll be no worse than the #3 in SEC Tourney.

I would've bought the wrong timeslot tickets if we were any lower than #3.

Unless we lose to Ole Miss

I was referring to The play drawn up at the end of the game today and the play drawn up at the end of the Auburn game before OT.

Everyone just stood there coming out the timeout. I just don't understand how that happens. Unless the entire team has amnesia.

Yikes pretty awful loss for Mississippi State. Theyve had a few close calls so they were finally due for a bad loss. Always seems like this time of year we get a lot of separation between contenders and pretenders.

Agree, game should have been easy but we seem to lack the will to win. The freshmen appear to be the players that gut it out for us. Our experienced players chocked!

Sorry but the only reason that anyone would not talk about the weakness of your conference is because it is as certain as death and taxes.

And my point, which is backed up by the hard data, is that this talking point is far overblown, especially when Mississippi State can't put away an SEC team that's the fair-market equivalent of Cincinnati.

I don't see it.

But they need changes as a whole. Upperclassmen can't seem to lead the team down the stretch when things get tough.

We were never a contender this year. If we could get to the elite 8, we'll call this an overachieving season. And if we can get to the final 4, we'll be crowing all offseason about how we're gonna be the team to beat next year.

Obviously I am disappointed as are many of the other fans. However as I have posted earlier I was concerned that nobody has consistently separated them from the others on this team. The exceptions may be R Jackson and J Carter. However even Carter has not been completely consistent. Of course she is also playing out of position. Otherwise it has been a mix and match with the rest of the players. Obviously J Danberry is not the type of personality that is going to carry the team emotionally. I think the reason Mississippi State was ranked so high at the beginning of the year is because of the name on the jersey and how consistently they have performed over the last few years. They still have a very good record but they simply do not have the type of team they have had in years past.

I agree with this. I think he actually personally likes her a lot and he has made comments about her energy and the way she supports her team. I think it is simply a matter of the limitations in her physical ability.

In all fairness, this loss *seems* worse than it actually is because Mississippi State has been such a model of consistency for several years now.

Most teams in the top 20 have a loss or two like this. The SEC is in a down year overall, so it's not like this matters much in the conference race.
