If Guerrier commits to Cuse then they will have no scholarships left for the Class of 2019, which means no Akok. Good news for us!

Battle defnitely leaving for the NBA, Brissett likely leaving for the NBA, Chukwu graduates, Howard graduates, Buddy B can come off scholarship in a pinch.

Of all these dudes I just really want Akok.

  1. We steal a recruit from Syracuse
  2. We get a #4 with a dynamic range of abilities; inside, outside, offense and defense
  3. We re-establish our cred with tippy top players in New England
"Steal" has got nothing to do with it. 'Cuse, though a gritty, plucky program, isn't as good a place to be for kids with NBA hopes as UConn. Syracuse is where the hope of NBA success goes to die.

(Oh and "4>1*")

Yeah I never thought playing time would be an issue with him going there. The issue is that you are behind LOL Pitt.

Chukwu may get a 6th year waiver, but they'll make it work if need be.

Scholarship count won’t play any factor in Akok’s decision. Not even worth discussing

How else are we going to fill the "Akok in the Bahamas so unlikely to have any news" void?

Yeah the NCAA is really inconsistent and infuriating with these.
Didn’t the kid that transfer to NC State not get a waiver until there was pressure from the public?

He lawyered up and got a waiver within a week of a lawyer's letter to the NCAA. Apparently they "found new evidence"

No, we still probably have 2 more. Buddy Boeheim can go off scholarship next year, and they expect Brissett to also leave. I hear we're not getting Akok, so good luck on him. I'm hoping we can land Stewart to go with all those guards he used to play with in AAU ball, but that's a moderate chance, not a great one. Carrigan or Wahab may fall to us. I know you've been after Wahab, but I think we have his last visit.

Since 2006, Syracuse has had 10 guys picked in the first round compared to 9 guys for UConn.

Of the 10 Syracuse players picked in the first round, 5 of them are still in the NBA.

Of the 9 UConn players picked in the first round, 5 of them are still in the NBA.

EDIT: It's actually 9 first-rounders for UConn since 2006, not 6.

Oh, a torn retina isn't "legitimate"? Do you see those goggles he still wears?
Who hasn't been a bust from Syracuse since Dave Bing? Even your superstar who won your 1 championship as a 1 year rental is considered the biggest loser in the NBA.

Seriously @IthacaMatt...Wesley Johnson and Dion Waiters at #4 overall have never surpassed "role player" status, Jonny Flynn at #6 was out of the league after 3 years and professional basketball after 5, MCW fell faster than almost every other ROY winner in history, Tyler Ennis and Chris McCullough don't seem like they'll be back stateside anytime soon, Hakim Warrick had a few decent years then fell off the face of the earth...

What's in the water up there?

He lost the transfer year and then essentially lost the following season with the eye injury, Gotta think that set him back some, but at the end of the day, he’s just limited. He’s a big guy with the coordination of a drunk on ice skates.

If he were 6’8” instead of 7’2”, he’d be playing at WestConn.
