Akok Akok on ESPN+ now

No GMU on my TV. Can you at least write where you live, or give a network?

Per the WVU basketball twitter page he is at the hospital now. No new updates.

"I just got briefed with our medical staff," West Virginia interim coach Josh Eilert said on his radio show after the game. "He's stable. He's talking. He's in a good place. He wanted to wish the guys well and congratulate them. He's in a good place. But they're going to monitor him overnight and do a lot of testing overnight to figure out what's going on. That's all I've got."

Prayers go out to Akok.

They still have him in a Connecticut jersey in the ESPN article. I didn't see what happened to him but he'll always be a UConn kid. Nice guy and Hurley's first big time recruit, I'll always root for him as a player and person. Let's hope he's okay going forward...

West Virginia's Akok Akok hospitalized after collapsing on court - ESPN

I have bad memories of people collapsing on a basketball court. We all do. Those memories are immediately triggered when I see or just read about such an event. I hope Akok is OK. If I were medical staff I'd be super paranoid about clearing him to play again. Terrified maybe.

Can't believe they continued the game after that.

Regardless, hopeful for a speedy recovery!

Wish him all the best. Had he not ruptured his Achilles, I believe his career would have taken a different path. He lost at least a step in quickness and he also lost the quick jumping especially the second jump that allowed him to show great potential b4 the injury. You know he tackled the rehab but sometimes this is not an injury that you can recover 100% of your pre injury skills. For Kobe his BBIQ was so much better than everyone he made up got the half of a step he lost with that and the respect he got from defenders. Wonder how Rodgers is going to look when he gets back. The RB Akers for the Rams came back in six months. He was not 100% but as a fan of his old team, I can tell you he was faster and stronger a year after the surgery. So it is a case by case type of thing.
Time for him to hang up the shoes and start enjoying those AARP benefits.
wow why not take him out back and put him out of his misery. Not sure how you can make that comment about just a great person. The odds he has continued to overcome. Not cool….
