With her size and talents, and bar injury, she will be assured of becoming a millionaire not too long after graduation, whichever school she chooses to attend. I doubt seriously that minor differences in academic prestige are weighing heavily in her calculations. She will go where she feels that she will be comfortable and have a good time in her four years as a college player. If she wants to be part of a proven winning machine and learn from a coach with a proven record of developing players' natural talents, that will favor UConn. If she sees herself as more of a "giant killer", or if she feels that she will be more comfortable playing for a female coach AND wants to be closer to home where her friends and relatives will find it easier to see her play, that will favor SC. Either way, she will be ok and the Huskies will be ok. If she does choose UConn, that will pretty much guarantee at least three more NCs, imo. Whether that would be a good or a bad thing, looking at the big picture, I am really not sure.
 
Seems that if A'ja was going to SC she could have announced that long ago....everyone at home would have been thrilled. So while I don't know where she is going I'm not going to be at all surprised if it IS out of state. If I'm correct, hope it is to the land of longer winters........
 
She's got her three choices active in the tourney.

It really is a choice between 2 schools, UCONN or So. Car.! 3 months ago it was stay close to home and go to So Car. or go where your BB skills will be advanced in a program that will prepare you for whatever BB you want! Now with So. Car. winning the SEC regular season title and becoming a #1 seed, she can have her cake and eat it too! So. Car. is an up and coming program with great talent returning! My bet is she chooses to stay home & win! SEC regular season & tournament + elite 8 & possible final 4's!
 
If it is SC why didn't she declare months ago and reap the local adoration that would have followed? If you check her twitter she always re-tweets a comment from a UCONN fan or local Sportswriter like Jim Fuller. She had a comment about Mo and Steph the other night( "Mo and Steph on a pick and roll" [3/25]). She does not do this as much with her other three finalists. Maybe its to throw the reader off, but maybe not.

I just hope she won't do the four shirts gimmick, peeling them off one by one, with the real one on last. That would be even worse than some of the threads...

She retweets everybody. If you are looking at her twitter account for clues you are looking in the wrong place.

I think she is going to South Carolina as well, but the school chosen by a young girl from Georgia a few years ago, that surprised everyone, sticks in my mind. It was so surprising that an opposing coach who thought she had her in the bag, cried recruiting foul.

True enough...let's just hope Geno didn't take A'ja to Bristol. Though now that you mention it, imagine the level of whining and complaining outside Huskyland if she comes to Storrs. It will be epic.

I doubt that anyone is going to whine...it's not like it would be unexpected for UCONN to land the number 1 recruit in the nation. We would all just say "again?" and move along like we do every other year.

Unfortunately we have 19 more days until she announces. So people will probably continue to speculate until she provides the actual reasons for her selection of a school.

Here ARE those actual reasons: the best education of the four under consideration.....very warm and enjoyable relationships in place with players on the team....reverence for the head coach.....respect for and comfort with the coaching staff.....a good head on her shoulders.....wise parents who want her to be the best she can be as a person, student, and player.....the best cadre of guards on the country.....THE program in women's basketball.....plenty of room to make your OWN mark, unselfishly, as so many have done, within the context of that program.

I hope you're right. We'll know for sure on April 16th.
 
It's been speculated on another board that UCONN and UNC are out and it's down to SC and Tennessee. SC still leads but Tenn is hovering.

This is me now - perhaps she's waiting to see how each does in the tourney, but both making the sweet 16 bodes well for their futures.
