Genuinely curious how the BYU coaching staff addresses the BYU code of conduct in recruiting him. Do they have an understanding with the administrators that it will be overlooked for recruits? Gotta imagine that would be a tough pill to swallow for your average high school athletic superstar.
See: Brandon Davies.

But I'm guessing and a cursory google suggests there's a lot of looking away.

Haven't been involved since he left St Seb's. Hurley and Murray watched him at the NEPSAC finals his freshman year. He was pretty great that day.

It's official. Dybansta has chosen BYU. I prefer this to him choosing Kansas, Alabama, or North Carolina.

How BYU builds these great athletic programs I’ll never understand. (Culture wise)

Were you the one who thought the NIL deal would be over $5 million and I doubted it from the articles saying around $4 million? Well, you were right. $7 million for one year seems kind of insane but we'll see if BYU gets the program bounce out of it that they want.

Yup I heard they were seriously angling for 10. Still are actually, with ancillary deals on that base.

It'll be delicious if they get bounced the 1st weekend of the NCAAT or even better...if they miss it altogether

So the question now is... are we at the peak of the NIL bubble? Or does it go higher? Will 5-star athletes all be demanding multimillion dollar NIL deals?

I don’t like it one bit but every top-10 prospect and their parents just saw that number and their eyes lit up. The genie is further out of the bottle now.

Dybansta is a generational talent. Flagg could've commanded that this year, I kinda have more respect for how his recruiting went now. Ended up with the wrong school but seems to have done it in a more old school fashion in regards to making the choice. I also understand the way the Dybansta crew handled it, and I don't begrudge it. Their choice. If schools are willing to do this, I guess you have to look at it.

There are not many talents like Dybansta and Flagg, so no I dont think this type of money will be seen much, but to your point I think it did raise the floor on garden variety 5 stars values. Like maybe 1.5 million just went to 2.5.

This bubble will pop. But not yet. Gonna be a few years I think.

I don't know if I can handle waiting to watch him play when he first has to serve a two-year mission.

Jokes aside, love this:

LOL. Not sure if it’s accurate, but the Duke team page said they’ve played once back in 1992. So, yeah.

AJ probably won’t care much as long as his name still gets called 1 and he gets his supermax later.
