What about going to the highest bidder would be a bad decision? His father is taking him to the highest bidder. Time will tell if that was the right decision. I'm not saying it's the wrong decision, but it's not 100% that he will be the first overall draft pick. Probably close to 100% but things do change with these things sometimes.
“I do know that the dad from the beginning has been pushing numbers like that,” said a source at an ACC school that is no longer in the mix. “He was pushing for $3 million while we were in the mix. The dad basically has said from the get-go that he’s going to the highest bidder.”
Lol. I don't think I need to even answer that. What about going to the highest bidder would be a bad decision?
It was sarcasm. I have no idea who he is. I dont really follow recruitingI don't think AJ is a bad kid. His father is running his recruitment and is looking to retire on his son. That's the system today and he's taking advantage of it. His father is doing what he thinks is right and AJ is letting his father run things. It is what it is.
It was sarcasm. Never heard of the kid. I domt follow recruiting.Calling a 17 year old kid a bum is a new low, even for BY standards
See: Brandon Davies.Genuinely curious how the BYU coaching staff addresses the BYU code of conduct in recruiting him. Do they have an understanding with the administrators that it will be overlooked for recruits? Gotta imagine that would be a tough pill to swallow for your average high school athletic superstar.
This is very interesting. Is there a comparable table for the second round?Could be a lot more than that.

Depends on the rest of the team. How many people here think he can lead BYU past 2nd round of tournament?
Edey appears to be the class bargain so far. This is very interesting. Is there a comparable table for the second round?
No, because there are no guaranteed contracts for 2nd round picks. You just negotiate whatever you can get. This is very interesting. Is there a comparable table for the second round?
How BYU builds these great athletic programs I’ll never understand. (Culture wise)It's official. Dybansta has chosen BYU. I prefer this to him choosing Kansas, Alabama, or North Carolina.

Yup I heard they were seriously angling for 10. Still are actually, with ancillary deals on that base. Were you the one who thought the NIL deal would be over $5 million and I doubted it from the articles saying around $4 million? Well, you were right. $7 million for one year seems kind of insane but we'll see if BYU gets the program bounce out of it that they want.

I don’t like it one bit but every top-10 prospect and their parents just saw that number and their eyes lit up. The genie is further out of the bottle now.So the question now is... are we at the peak of the NIL bubble? Or does it go higher? Will 5-star athletes all be demanding multimillion dollar NIL deals?
Dybansta is a generational talent. Flagg could've commanded that this year, I kinda have more respect for how his recruiting went now. Ended up with the wrong school but seems to have done it in a more old school fashion in regards to making the choice. I also understand the way the Dybansta crew handled it, and I don't begrudge it. Their choice. If schools are willing to do this, I guess you have to look at it.So the question now is... are we at the peak of the NIL bubble? Or does it go higher?
