I remember how bad the Florida teams were when Mullen left and Addazio became OC. Florida fans were happy he left. No creativity at all. And what I have seen from BC hasn't been inspiring either.

He has done a competent job overall at BC....but if UConn gets a new HC, I want them to be creative offensively. That isn't Addazio.

Yeah, but Urban Meyer was the head coach for those Florida teams, it was his offense more than Addazio's.

In 2009 with Addazio running the offense Florida went 13 - 1 and scored a ton of points.

You have to wonder if Addazio is out who BC has in line to take over. I doubt they'd can him without someone else already inline. And to the ones that say UConn can't afford Addazio I say that is exactly why the Huskies are in the predicament they are in right now. Unwilling to pay for quality coaching/recruiting. Not that Addazio is the answer but if UConn really wants to get back to winning ways and bowl games they have to pony up some cash to get the right staff in here.

I know someone who knows him very well. Before BC he was doing everything in his power to get a gig in CT. He wanted the Yale head coaching job but didn’t get it. He is from Farmington I believe and his wife really enjoyed living in Cheshire.

Addazio said negative things about UConn and the AAC. It's called recruiting as he wanted to get the best kids in Connecticut to go to BC and not go to UConn.

Look at BC's starting QBs from 1990 through 2008. Every one of them were either drafted by the NFL, played in the NFL, or were on the preseason roster.

Another real adult in the room would do wonders, he would recruit the area well, and his approach jives with Edsall who we are stuck with. If he is getting buy out money maybe he doesn’t mind making 300k to live where he wants to.

BC got into the ACC because they are the big fish in the pond in New England and produce a lot of tv revenue. Unfortunately, that does not result in getting five star players which is very difficult to do in the East coast. The last truly Eastern team to win a national championship was Syracuse and that was during the period of segregation when the best black athletes were barred from teams like Alabama, LSU , and Flordia.

Not sure if this was meant to be critical of Addazio. I am sure that he did rub some people the wrong way... how could you not when you coached forever and at many places. And I have no idea if he would make a good successor to RE.

He did not have to keep in touch with let alone continue to act as a mentor or benefactor to the kids he coached years ago in High School. Yet I know many people and have heard many stories of how he did. Under the radar, without expectation of benefit or publicity. He is fiery for sure. But beyond all else a good man imho.

BC produces nothing at all. Good academic school but athletically, it hasn’t done anything of note in many years and has a minimal following in the Boston market. It is hard to find game recaps in the Boston Globe, let alone real coverage.

I just spent my whole weekend listening to FSU fans complain about Syracuse, Boston College and Wake Forest ruining the ACC.
