Adams

He's not a very talented player. On a good team he'd be a Donnell Beverly type at best. If he's playing major minutes next year we're in trouble...again.

I along with the rest of the yarders have questioned BAdams and his lack of consistency. I don’t know if it’s a confidence issue or a true lack of talent. Whatever it is he should focus on possibly becoming a defensive specialist and leave the offense to some of the other guys.

He was a very capable scorer in HS. he scored over 1,500 points. I believe he's a better player than he's shown thus far. He'll get there, he's just not there yet.

The biggest things for him moving forward will be confidence and playing time. The talent is all there. The athleticism oozes out of him. Just check out his HS clips and you'll see the kind of ball handler he can be. He's got every bit the dribble drive ability Bouknight does, he just hasn't been able to show it at the collegiate level yet.

Brendan Adams

BA is a hard worker. Brendan has been up and down but I see a lot of improvement from his freshman season . Each year he'll provide more for the team. If he stay thru year 4 I think we will all appreciate his value.
Even this year he’s definitely been valuable depth

Bouknight is taller with longer arms, so he can score more easily when he drives. He can also take longer strides to get by defenders than Adams. This isn't a knock on Brendan at all, just saying that Bouk is far and away our best dribble penetrator.

They're the same height every roster you look at..... Adams is bigger and stronger. They're both 6'4" but Adams has about 20 lbs of muscle on Bouknight. I disagree with you but that's fine.

Adams adds nice north/south penetration on a team that lacks the ability to attack the rim successfully. He is not a finished product in that regard but he does force the defense to double and is more likely to pull up for a jumpier than over penetrate than some of the others. Add to that he has a pretty good handle.

Again not a finished product but he is one guy that looks to put pressure on the defense with penetration. Especially when we have most of the 3-5 position just looking to hand the pull off on the weave. I liked the kids game if he stays within himself.

Adams is a guy who will benefit immensely by getting some one on one training from great guards, like at Chris Paul Camp. He has a lot of potential but doesn’t know exactly how to use it to get to the rim. I don’t know why, but I think Adams is a sleeping giant. He just needs a couple of go to moves. His arsenal of weapons is too small. There is a lot to work with there. He needs a couple of tricky dribbles and a little bit better understanding of when and where to make his move. He’s very strong and a better than solid defender.
I'll keep saying this, you don't score 1,500 plus points in High School by accident. The kid can ball. He's got a ton of talent just waiting to be tapped. He's transformed his body from FR. to SO. year. Watch his highlight film. He can dribble drive and shoot. He was a 6'4" PG in HS. He can shoot as we saw today. Confidence and playing time are two things he needs. He can defend. He can hang with physical opponents due to his added strength. He's a huge asset for this team. He will be a great four year contributor without a doubt. With Bouknight's emergence, I think we will continue to see him improve as he gets more minutes.

Brendan Adams
As I said the other day, not every player fully matures until jr, and some until sr, year, but Adams has had his moments as a sophomore with today was another one. He’s a plus but won’t score a lot all the time just like a lot of “role” players.

Not sure where my post went. Anyway, huge potential there. Glad someone agrees with me. I like his potential based on a few things I’ve noticed. He is a lot like Polley in my eyes. He just looks like a baller. Both of those guys are learning how to tap their potential.

Different player from Polley completely, unless you were just comparing them recently tapping into their ability? He is an added ball handler and a plus defender in my eyes. He can play physical with the bigger guards they often see these days. He's a Hurley guy through and through, switched to UConn when Hurley left URI (committed to URI to play for Hurley). He's Bouknight lite. Same size. Can dribble and drive, pull up, hit the three and defend. Loving what I am seeing from these guys in recent weeks. They're growing before our eyes.

Yesterday he played 24 minutes and had 16 points and 5 rebounds going 4-8 from 3. Hurley gave him the green light because he was hitting early. He should be a 10-12 pg producer. Showed a mid range shot too. if Vital or Gilbert’s shots aren’t falling we need him to come thru.

I've been trying to tell you all here, this kid can score. Again, you don't score 1,500 plus points in HS by accident. Adams can score in many ways. He didn't come in with the fan fare that Bouknight did but I assure you he has a similar game. We've seen a couple wow dunks from him as well. Just watch his HS tape. He can clearly shoot. He can defend as we saw yesterday while Vital was getting a breather. His assignment was Cumberland, he locked him down too. He's a 4 year guy, but he can be every bit as affective as Bouknight in his own game. With Bouknight's emergence as a more go to guy, Adams will see more opportunities.

Also, people are saying Vital was 6-17 and 4-9 from 3 yesterday. How is that much different from Bouknight's 8-21 and 3-6 from 3? They're virtually the same. Adams just adds another offensive weapon from 3 and a dribble drive guy with mid range game. IDC if you all want to continue to disregard this, but he's only going to continue to get better.

Brendan your defense sets the tone for us. Keep up the great play Your hard work is paying off for all of us. Keep it up at SMU.

By his Senior year I see him on the floor in tight games in the final minutes, regardless of who is on our team or how good we become. He'll be a steady, experience, confident and calming influence out there. Not saying he's gonna be all BE or anything like that, but come his final year if he continues to improve, I would have no problem with him closing games over a freshman or less inexperienced player.

On a practical note, he'll be making Bouk, Gaff and whoever else comes better players through practices.

His projection is upward. He's the 4 year type player every team needs.

Yeah I thought so too but those 2 gagged FT's weren't what I like to see from my guys finishing games. He played tremendously but we need to make those or at least one the short rimming scares me especially the 2nd one hardly a follow through. And that 3 that was 2 feet left of the square and rim was a tremendous pass to CV for the lay in  . Loved his game yesterday as his offense was confident and his defense was really solid.
