That's a huge stretch. Better than the start of the season? Yes. Top 10? Nope.
Yup I agree. MM might've made the comments during one of the multiple "Nothing But Net" interludes that fill time between games. But I agree with you -- Louisville's not that high. FWIW, as of March 4th, Massey has Va. Tech 6th, ND 9th, Duke 12th, Louisville 16th, NC State 17th and NC 20th.

Hmmm, you are local, Triad. Closer to Duke or Wake from Greensboro? Maybe Charlotte?

Greensboro here. Mileage wise I'm closer of course to Wake Forest. However depending on the time of the day, it's quicker to get to Duke's campus than Wake Forest.
Not today (@triaddukefan -- did you see her on the sidelines?) but here's a piece on her coming back to the team following that pinkie injury and surgery.

Saw her on the bench all three days. She had no problems dancing on the stage following the game, and had a big smile when she was cutting down her portion of the net.

Hmm. I actually like Hailey Van Lith. Maybe it's because she's from Washington. If she has some bad habits of being ball dominant and shooting too much, maybe she learned it during her Fr. year watching Dana Evans?

Understood, Triad... I miss it there. I'm born and bred Connecticut but made a great decision to go to college in NC and still think of it as my second home (well, maybe third behind Ireland).:D

By the way, I was wait-listed at Duke, so you've got me there, but I think I would've chosen Wake anyway 'cause of my golf inclinations.

Good on Virginia Tech for pulling this out. I don't see them as 1 seed worthy but they have a nice resume.

Also, crazy dirty play by Mykasa Robinson...can't believe this was just brushed over by the refs (and announcers). Gregg was quite shaken up and went to the bench in pain. Should've been ejected, or at the bare minimum taken out of the game by Walz.

The fact that this wasn’t at least reviewed is completely absurd. Meanwhile if a player turns and knocks down another player while in the lane, the refs are reviewing it for an upgrade to a flagrant

Robinson certainly tried it with “the right one”. I’d like to see her pull that move with Zia Cooke or Nika Muhl.

Is Dana Evans also responsible for her bad attitude? Is Dana Evans why she constantly complains to the refs, even after they've already made the call in her favor?

Apparently I haven't noticed those things about her.

I don’t think that Hailey Van Lith has a bad attitude. She does complain to the refs a lot, but no more than any other superstar on their teams. Hailey Van Lith is a competitor. Her shot selection sometimes leave me a little baffled, but I think that is due to some of her teammates
not showing up every game and she feels that she has to take most of the shots. They did run into a very good Va Tech team, who’s clicking. Georgia Amoore was in beast mode. Her step back is a thing of beauty.

I'm with you on this. I don't think Hailey Van Lith has a bad attitude. She plays really hard. As for her complaining to the refs? I may be numb to that because I get to watch Nika Muhl play. Honestly, Olivia Miles's antics bother me more. She begs for calls. I don't like begging in sports.

There are soooooo many players who could be labelled as complainers depending on how one perceives them.

I know this is late but I finally got around to watching Syracuse’s post game presser after their tourney loss. FLJ is looking more and more like a good hire for Cuse, IMO. She is a straight shooter when it comes to her team and what they need to work on, but not throwing them under the bus. Just realistic and understanding it’ll be hard work ahead. Give them a couple of years to build and gel and I think they could be a decent ACC team. I’ll be so bold as to suggest they could crack the national top 25!

If only the Orange WBB could get half as much fan support as the embarrassment that the men’s team has become. I am a UConn fanatic so I am biased, I know, but the Cuse men haven’t been interesting in years. At least the women are on the precipice of an upswing.

When the ball goes out of bounds and she's saying "call the bleep foul" because she's mad she didn't get free throws, I wouldn't say that's a good attitude...

Granted, Marina Mabrey probably led the ACC in curse words four years running, so I understand the appeal of such players...

But trust me, have your favorite team play her 3 times in 3 weeks and you may learn to dislike Van Lith, too.

Some folks wondered why Ashley Owusu didn't see the court during the ACC Tournament. Apparently enough that The Next's Mitchall Northam decided to do a story on it. The main takeaways:
- Once Owusu was injured with the broken pinkie, Va. Tech got into a groove. As Northam writes:
"Virginia Tech figured out how to play without her, and that form of Virginia Tech seems to the best version of itself, considering the Hokies have now won 11 straight games and played their way into the conversation for a No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed. And, rather than try to force Owusu into the lineup and risk disrupting the rest of the team, Brooks seems to be at-peace with her not being part of the rotation."
- Owusu, at this point, will not use her 5th year of eligibility and plans on turning pro.

Having a ND fan calling out another player, when your team has had various Mabreys and Ogunbowale, is kinda funny. Scratch that, it's really funny.

In real time I didn't think too much of it. But then they replayed this on the jumbotron, the Gobbler Fans went berserk. I don't blame them either. Appeared to me that she mouthed something at the referee afterwards (but i could be mistaken about that)
