Good on Virginia Tech for pulling this out. I don't see them as 1 seed worthy but they have a nice resume.
Also, crazy dirty play by Mikasa Robinson...can't believe this was just brushed over by the refs (and announcers). Gregg was quite shaken up and went to the bench in pain.

I'm with you, ballnut90. My gut reaction when she pulled that shove was that it was an instant ejection... that the commentators, nor the officials seemed to think much of it stunned me then and baffles me now.
Are you giving them any suggestion for post-game eateries?Congratulations to the Hokies... Its like a club up here in the arena.. First ACC championship for them. These Land Granters know how to celebrate.

So, if that's how you would feel as a homer fan for Ms. Hailey Van Lith, imagine how the opposition feels?Triad, just finishing up watching the Va Tec/L'ville game on TV... hope you enjoyed it.
My two takes:
1) The Hokies deserve the title.
2) No way would I want to play with, coach or cheer for Van Lith. She has been and still is just so selfish. I feel for her teammates (and Walz, who clearly can't control her)... 8 of 30 today and yesterday, and yet she keeps dribbling around and firing away.

That's a huge stretch. Better than the start of the season? Yes. Top 10? Nope.I think I heard Muffet say after the ND/Louisville game yesterday that she thinks Louisville is a top 10 team. Not sure where that came from.

Congrats to Kenny Brooks and the Va. Tech Hokies. Class acts all the way around.

Likely 'cause that makes the Irish's blowout loss yesterday more palatable?I think I heard Muffet say after the ND/Louisville game yesterday that she thinks Louisville is a top 10 team. Not sure where that came from.
Hmmm, you are local, Triad. Closer to Duke or Wake from Greensboro? Maybe Charlotte?Well I'm back home about to fix and ham and cheese sammich with a banana and mixed fruit smoothie. Coach Brooks and any Hokie fans! are welcome to stop by![]()
Not today (@triaddukefan -- did you see her on the sidelines?) but here's a piece on her coming back to the team following that pinkie injury and surgery.Anyone know why Owusu isn’t playing??
Yup I agree. MM might've made the comments during one of the multiple "Nothing But Net" interludes that fill time between games. But I agree with you -- Louisville's not that high. FWIW, as of March 4th, Massey has Va. Tech 6th, ND 9th, Duke 12th, Louisville 16th, NC State 17th and NC 20th.That's a huge stretch. Better than the start of the season? Yes. Top 10? Nope.
Better? Yes, but success is very dependent on scoring from Hailey Van Lith. That's a huge stretch. Better than the start of the season? Yes. Top 10? Nope.

Ashley Owusu struggles to crack lineup for surging Virginia Tech - Just Women's Sports
Owusu hasn’t played significant minutes since breaking her pinkie in December, averaging just 9.4 minutes per game for the Hokies.justwomenssports.com
Understood, Triad... I miss it there. I'm born and bred Connecticut but made a great decision to go to college in NC and still think of it as my second home (well, maybe third behind Ireland).Greensboro here. Mileage wise I'm closer of course to Wake Forest. However depending on the time of the day, it's quicker to get to Duke's campus than Wake Forest.

Because her alternative was to say that NDame wasn't a top 25 team right now.I think I heard Muffet say after the ND/Louisville game yesterday that she thinks Louisville is a top 10 team. Not sure where that came from.

Is Dana Evans also responsible for her bad attitude? Is Dana Evans why she constantly complains to the refs, even after they've already made the call in her favor?Hmm. I actually like Hailey Van Lith. Maybe it's because she's from Washington. If she has some bad habits of being ball dominant and shooting too much, maybe she learned it during her Fr. year watching Dana Evans?
Apparently I haven't noticed those things about her.Is Dana Evans also responsible for her bad attitude? Is Dana Evans why she constantly complains to the refs, even after they've already made the call in her favor?
I'm with you on this. I don't think Hailey Van Lith has a bad attitude. She plays really hard. As for her complaining to the refs? I may be numb to that because I get to watch Nika Muhl play. Honestly, Olivia Miles's antics bother me more. She begs for calls. I don't like begging in sports.I don’t think that Hailey Van Lith has a bad attitude. She does complain to the refs a lot, but no more than any other superstar on their teams. Hailey Van Lith is a competitor. Her shot selection sometimes leave me a little baffled, but I think that is due to some of her teammates
not showing up every game and she feels that she has to take most of the shots. They did run into a very good Va Tech team, who’s clicking. Georgia Amoore was in beast mode. Her step back is a thing of beauty.

At least the women are on the precipice of an upswing. When the ball goes out of bounds and she's saying "call the bleep foul" because she's mad she didn't get free throws, I wouldn't say that's a good attitude...I don’t think that Hailey Van Lith has a bad attitude.
