The ACC was not about to be outdone by the Pac 12. They also managed to eliminate their top 2 seeds prior to the championship game.

I was exiting through the concourse, and a Coliseum worker was yelling. "Support women's basketball.. Even if your team lost, come back tomorrow for the game" . I looked around, surrounded by maroon and orange, and realized she must have been been talking to me.

You’re a good sport Triad!

Now go enjoy some cheerwine.

You could give me a case of Cheerwiine, two steak subs, and some Italian cream cake, and I still wouldn't be able to enjoy it. I'm gutted. :(

This tournament is unwatchable. It’s a rugby game disguised as basketball. The ACC is going to be in trouble when tournament time comes and they can’t mug teams defensively without ACC refs to allow it, and legendary coaches like Geno, Kim Mulkey and Dawn Staley who will be all over any ref who calls games the way ACC refs do.

I'm not a fan of WBB officiating in general, and some of the ACC officiating has been pretty horrendous this season, but aggressive physical defense ("mugging" seems a bit strong) happened in pretty much every game I watched regardless of conference. There have been dozens of posts on this site about Lou Lopez Senechal getting beat up every game. Lots of physical post play in the SEC games that I've watched. It's not just the ACC.

They’ve taught players to not reach with their hands, but bump with their bodies and they do it all over the court. That’s why scoring is such a struggle.

If the NCAA wants to grow the women’s game via viewers they need more Showtime in the game and less bumping rugby.

Hope the next game is more entertaining.

After watching ND perform in the un-perfect storm at noon, I decided to see how ND could do in another sport and luckily our Girls Lacrosse team beat Duke 14-6 in Charlotte. And the guys beat Maryland, 13-12 in triple overtime! So, if you add those two scores, they're 2/3 of the way to what the girls scored in hoops today.;)

The good news for you, I suppose was seeing the Men's team beat UNC at Chapel Hill and probably knock the Tar Heels out of the NCAA Tournament.

So, it's a lovely day in northern NJ today and Duke/ND can hope 40 points are on the horizon. Oh Happy Day!!

At the Coliseum. To no surprise... Tons of maroon and orange in the parking lot and in the concourse. Probably will be at leaat 80 percent pro fowl crowd.

Triad, just finishing up watching the Va Tec/L'ville game on TV... hope you enjoyed it.

My two takes:
1) The Hokies deserve the title.
2) No way would I want to play with, coach or cheer for Van Lith. She has been and still is just so selfish. I feel for her teammates (and Walz, who clearly can't control her)... 8 of 30 today and yesterday, and yet she keeps dribbling around and firing away.

Good on Virginia Tech for pulling this out. I don't see them as 1 seed worthy but they have a nice resume.

Also, crazy dirty play by Mykasa Robinson...can't believe this was just brushed over by the refs (and announcers). Gregg was quite shaken up and went to the bench in pain. Should've been ejected, or at the bare minimum taken out of the game by Walz.

I'm with you, ballnut90. My gut reaction when she pulled that shove was that it was an instant ejection... that the commentators, nor the officials seemed to think much of it stunned me then and baffles me now.

Wow, I must've been running to the kitchen and missed that. That's a forearm push (not even a shiver) to the back and is most certainly a football play that would've been called a personal foul. In basketball, I think that's an ejection.

Congratulations to the Hokies... Its like a club up here in the arena.. First ACC championship for them. These Land Granters know how to celebrate.
Are you giving them any suggestion for post-game eateries? ;)

Congrats to Kenny Brooks and the Va. Tech Hokies. Class acts all the way around.

So, if that's how you would feel as a homer fan for Ms. Hailey Van Lith, imagine how the opposition feels? ;)

I think I heard Muffet say after the ND/Louisville game yesterday that she thinks Louisville is a top 10 team. Not sure where that came from.

That's a huge stretch. Better than the start of the season? Yes. Top 10? Nope.

Well I'm back home about to fix and ham and cheese sammich with a banana and mixed fruit smoothie. Coach Brooks and any Hokie fans! are welcome to stop by :p

Likely 'cause that makes the Irish's blowout loss yesterday more palatable?

Hmmm, you are local, Triad. Closer to Duke or Wake from Greensboro? Maybe Charlotte?
