For the uninitiated and
@LETTERL, actually this is NOT about neutral championship sites as almost all swimming championships are never held at a D1 school. The conferences usually want a high end facility with spectator views which most D1 pools do not have. Championship swimming is about pool depth 8 feet or more (to absorb all the kicking turbulance), desk space to accommodate all the teams, spectator seating, hotel accommodations and 8 competition lanes, separate diving wells, warm-up and warm-down areas. But as Triad notes, the GAC is a phenomenal facility and is known as one of the fastest pools in the country. The indoor YMCA nationals are held there frequently.
