ACC 2025-26

Somebody needs to tell Stanford a game is 4 quarters, not 3. Getting absolutely smoked in Q4 against NC State. They were hanging around, but now it's 70-39. 19-2 in the final frame so far.

edit--wait a minute, I thought the Card were a 4th quarter team?

The SMU futility tour marches on. Thumped by the Ville 91-58,

74-46 final. Pack w/ the 42-20 advantage in the 2nd half. Ouch.

I look forward to the woofing gods wreaking havoc on every PNW team for the rest of this season. 😔🤬

Don't look now, but you know who is all alone in First place
I've been watching some Duke highlights, they are definitely getting into a groove. Unfortunately right before the ND game. Side note, is Skinner still injured? I looked online and couldn't find anything. Unsure if there's some Duke forums or fans who know more. I was really excited to watch her this season.

We've already been over this. No woofing gods are needed. UW has plenty enough trouble without divine intervention. Fully expecting a loss to Michigan today. Remember that 4th quarter meltdown by the Huskies against your Card? No woofing gods were invoked by me that day, and it still happened.

Yes, and it is looking more and more like she will redshirt.

Skinner is still out. No time table for return. However it’s looking like a red shirt year. She used to participate in warmups and dress out. The last few games she has been in street clothes and with a note pad. No official word tho.

Looks like Duke and State are continuing to round into form after slow starts. Louisville is right there too. ND with an embarrassing loss to GT today.

For a volume scorer I think Hidalgo is actually quite efficient most of the time, but yikes, maybe should have taken fewer shots in this one. 26 points on 25 shots.

Alternatively, Cowles (14 on 10), Prosper (19 on 15), de Jesus (16 on 9!!) and Moore (11 on 8).

FWIW, 10 assists for Hidalgo too.

VA Tech was pummeling Miami, I think they were up as many as 18. Lead down to 5 now. (Yeah I know I'm a hypocrite but I don't think we have many fans of either team on this forum)

edit--Whoa, it's tied now! Florida St.-Syracuse is following a similar storyline

.-.
Syracuse held on, won by 10. VT on the other hand was forced to OT and it sure looks like Miami is gonna win this one. They were down by A LOT earlier in the game.

VT was up 49-31 w/ 3:35 left in Q3.

edit--Miami won 75-67. So they went on a 44-18 run spanning the end of Q3, Q4 and the OT.

Don't know the team but seems like NC State's results have been all over the place. Injury problems or are they just inconsistent?

I think State has shown growth over the course of the season. The results early weren’t exactly all over the place either, they were playing fairly evenly with good teams (Tennessee, USC, TCU, Oklahoma) just some games they couldn’t finish, which I think isn’t that odd given State lost 3 starting seniors, 2 are 1st round W selections and the other was the heart and soul of the team. They had a major leadership void, still kinda do honestly.

I think it’s been a team trying to find itself early on who didn’t get 14 games against cupcakes to figure it out away from scrutiny. They played a very challenging schedule and were trying to break players in to new roles. KP and Q trying to find their roles, Zoe and Zam feeling out who is the lead guard and how to handle being the top of the scout each night, and the bench was a major question early.

Now Zam has kinda taken the reigns at point, KP has found herself and her role on this team and the bench has really given the team a lift. Cox has been very solid off the bench and Quigley and Lunan have both had their moments as well.

For me, this team turned a corner in Cancun. After they lost to RI they went down to Cancun and won both games by double digits, had a dog fight in OT on the road against top 10 Oklahoma, have crushed GT and Stanford at home, crushed Miami on the road and beat a solid Davidson team on the road.

I don’t think they have the same talent level as last year, but I also think the conference is down too. I expect them to be right there fighting for the championship of the ACC.

Zam Jones badly twisted her ankle and had to leave the game with Cal early in the 4th quarter. She will miss time. Meanwhile, it is official now that Lorena Awou has left the NC State team.
