Maybe I’m crazy but I don’t really get the Kara bashing. To be fair, I don’t think she’s the wizard of Westwood or anything - but Duke seems undoubtedly on the rise. Last year a top 25 team, this year top 10. They play a ton of freshmen, sophomores and juniors - the success isn’t seemingly predicated on one or two stars.

Idk, to me Duke seems like they are on solid footing. But maybe my standards aren’t as high. Duke has some built in advantages sure, but it’s a tough neighborhood. UNC is trying to win. Louisville. Notre Dame. State. That’s just in the conference … a lot of schools would like to be where Duke is right now imo. Success is hard to achieve.
You're not crazy. In my opinion, the bashing is coming from one person primarily. No idea why they're overly critical of Lawson to the level they are.

Not worth trying to figure out why either. It is what it is.

What is this "bashing" nonsense? Criticizing a coach isn't bashing. Pointing out that a coach who wasn't qualified for the position that she currently holds and isn't exactly lighting the women's college basketball world on fire isn't bashing. I honestly don't see what Kara is doing to have so many people outside of Duke going to bat for her. Heck, the fans at her alma mater didn't want her coaching them when her name was mentioned (and they may have been right about that).

Fans of other ACC programs can be okay with Top 25/Top 10 for Duke (and I can see why--a great Duke team is a threat to their teams), but Duke has been far better and needs to get back to being far better. Top 10 ain't Final Four.

Huh?......Sorry, I don't get the logic of what you are saying at all. Different planes.
I thought it was as simple a message as can be. Sorry about that.

Syracuse is actually on a winning streak! Wake had a big lead early, but couldn't hold it.

The whole triangle played at the same time!

Duke generated 28 Miami turnovers to earn a fg shot edge of 70 to 47. 25 points from Fournier off the bench too.

Virginia Tech avenged their loss in Blacksburg to Virginia in a big way today, 87-62.

Impressive game for State on the road. Zoe Brooks continues to play great - she flies under the radar with Saniya Rivers and Azaiah James on the team, but she’s pretty darn good.

Also James was left off of the 10 finalists list for national shooting guard - I don’t think there are 10 better 2s in the nation.

.-.
I know Carnegie was the favorite for ACC freshman of the year to start conference play. But Fournier, in my opinion, has emerged as the favorite thus far. Carnegie just hasn’t seemed the same since her injury.

.-.
Bay Areas defend their home courts. Stanford over Syracuse and Cal over Boston College.

Same team that has won by less than 10 points COMBINED in their last three games against UNRANKED opponents (@Stanford, @Clemson, VT)?

Oh yeah--special group right there. /s

It will be interesting how she does against the ND defense on Monday night since she had a rougher night than usual against NC State defense (4-11, 9 points,3 steals, 10 rebs).

She's had a number of steals lately but is only 135th in steals per game. Has her playing time or defensive assignment changed recently?

Anytime you divide by 0 the result gets large. I'd look at team turnovers (14.8 per game) and team assists (17.6) to get a better picture. It's 1.19. That's close to your Monday night opponent at 1.2, so it should be an interesting game.

So since Hidalgo went 3-17 against Pitts defense. Should we be judging something off that??

You literally cannot divide by zero, so what are you talking about?

Playing time has been pretty consistent... about 20-22 minutes a game .. though she did play 30+ minutes vs State

I wouldn’t read much into the State game. State didn’t play extraordinary defense that game IMO. It was a road game in a tough environment and perhaps she was asked to play a slightly different role as Richardson played only 9 minutes with foul issues?

She’s 42% shooting on the road this year, maybe that’s a factor?

But a one game sample is too random to read much into.

Thanks that's the information I was trying to get from my poorly phrased question. Playing a different role will often throw off something until you get used to it.
