No, no, let them keep saying it, it worked well with Clingan when he was doubted.Really? Just like Clingan. When will you learn?

This is all definitely true, but I still don't think I've ever seen him be right about a recruit lol. He said we'd get Tyler Betsey, was hyping UConn for Flagg, etc. He’s been around New Haven basketball for about 60 years, does radio for Yale and is around the HS game a lot, an Ivy basketball maven too. I’ll actually be a contributing writer for his upcoming Ivy hoops book.
Back in the day when burgers tasted like real meat and brought to your car. Traveling through Ohio would always look for one.Was any other old-timer reminded of Abdou's Big Boy?
Imagine that 6'4" center for Northwest Catholic getting to guard Clingan. No, no, let them keep saying it, it worked well with Clingan when he was doubted.

The last one wasn't bad. There's nothing I love more than seeing Connecticut kids play for us. Need this to happen.
As a general matter, in this NIL world any recruit saying "I'm in heaven over this offer, this is where I see myself playing" is reducing his negotiating leverage when the size of NIL is on the table. Old rules of analysis are gone. You have to assume that all recruits will be much more reserved in their reactions to an offer until they know the NIL package. He is downplaying offer. My kids are in his orbit and not a secret this was the one he was waiting on.
My brother, buddy and I used to hit their breakfast buffet back when we were in our 20's. It wasn't pretty.Back in the day when burgers tasted like real meat and brought to your car. Traveling through Ohio would always look for one.
Everyone’s boy Richard Kent chimes in:
They used to have a pretty good salad bar that was included with your meal. When I was a teenager I guarantee they lost money on me.My brother, buddy and I used to hit their breakfast buffet back when we were in our 20's. It wasn't pretty.
Good times. I remember going with my high school friends to Howard Johnson's for all you can eat chicken (Wednesday night, maybe?). We would be there for hours. They used to have a pretty good salad bar that was included with your meal. When I was a teenager I guarantee they lost money on me.
You think he has 17 d1 offers for nothing..he is not going to pep a year!!!Regarding Abdou Toure, I want to add something. I think he might need a year in a high level prep school. CT HS HOOPS is good, but Toure needs more time against top level players. I know he & his squad went to Poland last summer to face better competition. To start at UCONN's level he needs more strength (which he's working on) and more exposure to top level prep players.
Maybe he stays at NDWH, graduates and then goes to prep and enters with the freshman class of 2027. Or possibly preps next season and then enters college fall of 2026.
There was a place on Silver Lane in East Hartford, Charley's or something like that, that had all you can eat shrimp and all the (cheap!) beer you could drink. Not pretty! There's no way anyone could do that today.Good times. I remember going with my high school friends to Howard Johnson's for all you can eat chicken (Wednesday night, maybe?). I can't remember who it was but somebody had an all you can eat shrimp bar when I was at UConn. The whole floor would go there. I can't imagine how they made a profit that night.

O.K. now we're getting waaaaaay off topic. Just like many threads!
Yep that's it.Beefsteak Charlie’s (aka Cheapskate Charlie’s)
Same. The ones that succeed and embrace it like Donovan become state legends and heroes here. It’s a lot of pressure and it’s not for everyone. There's nothing I love more than seeing Connecticut kids play for us. Need this to happen.
The guy I went to Abdow's with created havoc at that place. He loved shrimp and he was a machine. As soon as we were seated, he'd grab 3 plates and pile one with the peel-and-eat shrimp until it started falling off. In seconds, the pile was separated into a plate of shells and a plate of shrimp meat. Then he'd dump a bunch of cocktail sauce on and eat the whole pile with a fork. The entire operation took less than 5 minutes. Then he'd do it again and then he'd decide what to order for dinner.Beefsteak Charlie’s (aka Cheapskate Charlie’s)
I actually go to some of his high school games driving an hour each way and have no connection to Notre Dame. That's how special a player he is.I would love to have in a Husky uniform. I went to both Notre Dame and UConn so it’s a lot special!
Or how special a fan you are...#notcasualI actually go to some of his high school games driving an hour each way and have no connection to Notre Dame. That's how special a player he is.
It sounds like he wants to be here. I think if we can put a nice NIL package together for him, and I don’t see a reason why we couldn’t, he will come here. Especially if another forward like Liam is a lottery pick in the upcoming draft.Percentage chance we land him? 70%?
Just the kind of twitchy athlete we can use.
