Scott was born in New Haven, and raised in Hamden... I take "out of New Haven" though with a liberal amount of belief.
Was he born in New Haven because that’s where the hospital is or did his parents live in New Haven when he was born? If it’s the latter then when did he move to Hamden?

Unsure - we were both student athletes more or less the same years, but I did not know him. Just knew he was born in New Haven as sometimes coaches would give us UConn-wide stats on where athletes were "from" but to say if Coach Marshall had anything more than a name and a location would be stretching it.

Tremont Waters is so good that he gets mentioned twice!
not really just an error trying to multi-task at work!!!

As I remember I was watching a tournament game live years back and the program said this kid from U of Iowa with last name Stokes came from New Haven. I also remember him playing in the NBA - cant recall his 1st name

How did he play tonight?
Any staff there?
I wasn't able to attend this one, but they won so folks will be able to see him play for back to back state titles at Mohegan Sun this weekend. If UConn makes it to the Big East Final there won't be any UConn coaches there to see it. Definitely interested in hearing how he played today.

Just like the game I saw him play last year in the tournament at U of H he didn't force anything in the first half and then he asserted himself in the second half. It may be a pattern for him.

In the second half he had a nice two-hand breakaway jam, a beautiful spin move in the paint and layup off the glass, one or more ferocious blocks and a sweet 3-pointer as he was being fouled. ND Fairfield came back from 20 points down in the 2nd half to tie it or maybe even go ahead by a point or two but then ND West Haven recovered and won by 8-10 points or so.

He's the real deal.

This was my first time seeing him. It was really hard to evaluate him. At the CIAC level, he clearly is in a league of his own athletically. Bigger, stronger, more explosive, etc. But does that translate to UConn and having an impact as a freshman? That was less Convincing. In many ways, it almost felt as if he wasn’t even trying. The first half was basically hanging around the perimeter, not forcing anything, but also not really being involved. The second half was better. After ND of Fairfield erased an 18 point lead, Toure definitely seemed more engaged and sort of took over. He was the best on the court but I wouldn’t say dominant. He seemed to play at one speed the entire game. He also allowed the game come to him and I don’t recall even a single turnover. To me, there is clear upside to the kid and I left the gym wanting to see more. I think it’s obvious he is better suited to go the prep route next season and play stronger competition. My hunch is he will be more engaged and forced to play harder. Last night was just ok to me. I expected to see more but he wasn’t really challenged. The next best player on the floor was a 5 10 sophomore from Fairfield. The kid was super quick and did frustrate Toure a bit in the second half. In all, I think of just three plays were Toure showed next level stuff. A really nice offensive rebound in the first half, a step back 3 and 1, and a really nice drive to the hoop. That was basically it. The place was packed and I did not see any staff.

Anyone remember Bobby Moore? He is from New Haven and played at Hillhouse for a couple of years before prepping at MCI with Max Good and a stable of other D1 guys. Saw him play against T-More, I think in the Ajou Deng era, and Bobby Moore was one of the most explosive guys I've ever seen. Maybe 5-9, dunking on people, hitting 3's. Crazy talented.

Yes, my buddy knew him from some camp. We were at an all-star game of CT best high schoolers at the time. Edmund's senior year of high school, Will Solomon, Tip Vinson.

Bobby Moore was a junior and the best guy on the court but he hadn't dunked yet in the game. We all yell out to him on the sideline that he needs to dunk during the game. He laughs at us and then like 2 possessions later he wraps the ball around the defender bounces it off the backboard and dunks it. Most ridiculous thing I've seen a player do in a game.

It's a real shame he never got it together and played in college.

My buddy is assistant coach at NDWH. Toure was hurt and a GTD. That was him at 50%
Yeah this article talks about it.

Two of Notre dame's starters, Toure and point guard Kadrian Reeves, came into the game injured. Reeves hurt his ankle at the tail end of the victory against Windsor last Thursday. Toure said he twisted his left ankle in practice two days ago to the point where "I couldn't even walk." He said he was "doing a lot of therapy" and taking some ice baths to what Shea said he was at about 50 percent for Monday's game.

"If you knew the back story, then you know that’s a legendary performance what he did out there on that foot," Shea said. "That’s not average, that’s exceptional. That’s one of the greatest performances I've ever seen by a high school player."

He wasn’t even limping slightly or favoring a foot; so not to discredit the reports but 50%? He seemed to be moving better than that . Also, it was no where near one of top high school performances.

I played against him a bunch after he was already done with school and just doing men's leagues. He was nasty.
