AAC Football Media Day - July 17th/18th in Newport RI

I called to see if I can buy the helmet after the event so @whaler11 can wear it to the Rent for UConn games.

They have the best location and traditon for media days - shame they ruin it with that helmet.

I suspect if you put that helmet on you are in concussion protocol without even getting hit.

Andy Katz drops the first Power 6 reference of the evening

Did he find a new gig yet? Would be a good hire for the AAC if they could figure out a way to use him?

Are you ever happy? I am curious by your post on this board on everything you hate about the AAC

I was making a joke about the dumb helmet.

I said they have the best media days. I don't think the helmet actually ruins the event.

Here's the reason. It is July. It is a terrific location and they get people to come for the clambake. You're an RSPN Guy you can bring your wife and kids to a great summer vacation spot for a few days.

Nope and yup... even if for a year.

I always thought that the mid-major college basketball leagues in the northeast made a mistake not hiring a guy like Kyle Whelleston to just blog about the NEC/CAA/AEast/A-10.

Each league kicking in 20k and covering a quarter of his expenses and you'd have tremendous coverage and great PR.

The AAC is tougher because of the geography and Katz is more expensive but dropping a quarter million to have Katz write about the league on the website while finding a sponsor/media partner would be money well spent I think.

To me that's a lot better marketing than hashtags for the h8ers in the other thread.

Katz would be phenomenal to have for AAC Digital Network programming as well. He did a good job tonight and seemed excited to be there. I hope Aresco and Katz can work something out.

The energy this year seems better. Randy seems like he is really enjoying being back and Myers is pretty relaxed.

I would have bet the record was more than 10 (but it probably reset w/ AAC).
