These kids have been separated from their families since summer....with Covid, it has been grueling..isolation from family, friends, social life.....

And with no familly at bowls, no outside socializing on the trip...it just isn't a bowl year...

Look at Kelly when he was tweeting that the Irish may turn down the CFP...

"Why would we play if you can't have families at the game? If you can't have families at bowl games, why would you go to a game where your families can't be part of it?"

The Independence Bowl was locked into Army and the Pac 12 this year...Army was a covid victim...Army had a contracted bowl game and was unlucky.

These bowls are simply embarrassments and I hope the teams involved and sponsors suffer significant financial disaster. I also hope any senior or junior with a shot at the draft has the common sense to opt out of playing.

But these are in confernce wins-losses this year....only half of the teams can go over .500...no OOC patsies.

• Player bend over backwards to stay isolated, healthy, and in form to field a team.
• AD's work overtime to set up a schedule and find opponents for 6 days out.
• Networks fly by the seat of their pants to make sure fans at home can follow the games.

The reality is that these crap bowls are a money drain in a normal year. With financial hits left and right these bowls are even more irrelevant this year. But you know. Concerns for the players. Abundance of caution. Blah. Blah. Blah.
