The man on the far left of the screen shot is Bob Hurley, Sr, who has worked with Gandy as a coach. The man is in the Hall of Fame
Interesting that unlike other players where Geno usually focuses on a specific skills that he likes or how a she is performing during practice, he always just mentions "progress" regarding Gandy. There’s been some discussion and speculation tion on the Boneyard about Gandy throughout the season. The only thing that counts, though, is that Geno (as alluded to in the above post) has said at least a couple of times that he’s happy with her progress. I’m not reading anything into that, but it is the only actual information we have.
Really? How many inches did she grow?Gandy is going to be huge this season
Are there any inches to spare in this world?Really? How many inches did she grow?
You can never have enough inches, so I hope so.Are there any inches to spare in this world?
It looks like Gandy has most of themYou can never have enough inches, so I hope so.
Yeah, yeah, but the pictures are pretty cool...I expect Gandy to play very little this year. UCONN's best lineup was with Sarah at 5 and Blanca at 4. With the aboundance of guards in which some could back up and play some SF and Cheli can play backup PF, there is too much ahead of her. Hopefully she gets redshirt from last year. She'll have her chances her jr year if she shows growth in Practices.
UCONN remains a a major threat for a Nat'l Title and as a result they have 2 big centers and Sarah as the small center. There is to much ahead of her while the guards remain a combo of good/expereinced and skill.
Good article with some encouraging points, in particular Jana and Sarah commenting on how good she is as a rebounder, finishing better and learning from Sarah on blocking techniques. Also clarification on the possibility of getting a redshirt year with a rule change even if she wasn't injured.
This confirms what I've already thought: she will get Kiah Stokes minutes this season. Why? Because the skills the article focuses on are Kiah's skills. That means I expect ~10 minutes, 2-3 rebounds, 2-3 pts, and a block or two per game this season. Kiah's minutes eventually grew to 18, with 4 points, 7 rebounds and 3.8 blocks. If Gandy does that, I think Geno (and the rest of us) will be thrilled.
I liked this article, including the pictures in it. Her teammates are really, really encouraged by what we don't get to see, her performance in the practices.
No, it’s the daughter of Gandy’s mentor, Kieran Quinn, who is on the far right.OK, help me all you Obi-Wan Kenobi's, you are my only hope.
Who's the girl in the Navy shirt? Is it Morgan Cheli?
