Coe has been behind every batter. Would have gone to Afthim against the righty. Actually, I would have liked to have seen Afthim start inning.

Top 8th, Butler loads the bases with 1 out on a single and 2 walks. A sac fly for the 2nd out gives Butler a 4-3 lead. Coe gets a strikeout to end the inning leaving 2 runners on base.

First two batters walk, and now we have yet another review of a Tammaro bunt.

Can someone smarter than me explain that? It clearly doesn't hit the bat twice, he was in the box, doesn't go in foul territory?

Not going to blame the pitching if we lose. We shouldn’t have problems scoring 5 on Butler.

Still time!
Bosacker had 3 really strong starts prior to today. 3 runs in 18 innings. I knew coming in offerense could have been a premium.

Bottom 8th, first 2 UConn batters get on base with walks. The baserunners both move up a base with no outs. Tammaro with an RBI single to tie the game at 4, runners at the corners with no outs. Tammaro steals 2B with no outs to put 2 runners in scoring position. Simmons is walked intentionally to load the bases with no out. Dalena pinch hits for Hyde, but pops out for the first out.

Bottom 8th, Morton sac fly for the 2nd out gives UConn a 5-4 lead.

Garbowski comes in to catch. Willis comes in to try to get the save.

Struggling so mightily against the worst team in the mediocre conference is not a great sign

Top 9th, a single and an error on Huber puts the first 2 batters on base for Butler with no outs. Double play ball gets 2 outs, runner moves to 3B. An error on Huber allows the run to score and ties the game at 5. A 2 out single brings in a run to give Butler a 6-5 lead going to the bottom of the 9th.

3 errors up 1 run in the top of the 9th is almost exactly opposite of what you'd hope to do

Welp, rare defensive lapses this inning (although the bunt should have been ruled a hit). Not Willis’s fault.

Different play. The bunt hit home plate so it’s foul.
Home plate is in fair territory. The ump had to believe it either hut the bat a second time (the replay looked kike it may have) or it hit the batter while he was still in the batter's box. Either way we ended up benefitting with the catcher's trap.

Not showing this weekend that we can handle pressure very well. Not sure why Huber tried to pick up that ball with his glove rather than barehand it. Shouldn't have come down to this, have to put up more runs in the bottom of the 8th.

You’re right. My bad. Regardless it’s still a different play.

Any hopes of hosting a regional probably hinge on this half inning? Let's hope for the best
