We scored 8 runs in 2 innings last year vs this starter. A repeat effort would be nice.

Top 2nd, after the solo homer, S. Quigley leaves 2 runners on base. 3-0 Butler.

Bottom 2nd, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense, 3-0 Butler.

Top 3rd, S. Quigley gets 2 strikeouts as he retires the side in order, 3-0 Butler. Quigley is at 50 pitches. In a perfect world, UConn would like to get some length from Quigley today.

Garrett Coe was warming up that inning.

Bottom 3rd, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense after a leadoff single by Hyde. 3-0 Butler.

Bottom 4th, UConn offense with 3 singles to load the bases with 1 out. Simmons gets a 1 out walk to bring in a run, 3-1 Butler. UConn offense leaves the bases loaded, getting only the 1 run.

Top 5th, S. Quigley with a scoreless inning, leaving a runner at 2B. 3-1 Butler.

We have some real SP problems. I hope we can host because going to down to an SEC or ACC school with those offenses could get real ugly. They are just teeing up the pitches. Also, for a bad defensive team, their defense has been amazing so far.
Based on RPI, If we lose today or tomorrow, hosting will be very unlikely. It seems like our players know this and are pressing, which frankly you can’t blame them for, they are only human.

Top 6th, S. Quigley with a 1-2-3 inning, game tied at 3. Quigley has really settled down as the game has progressed. Quigley at 88 pitches, may get 1 more inning from him.

Bottom 6th, a scoreless inning for the UConn offense, game tied at 3.

Top 7th, Coe takes the mound.

Bottom 7th, a double play ends the inning with the UConn offense having the minimum 3 batters. Game tied at 3.

There was probably some justice in that DP.

Coe has been behind every batter. Would have gone to Afthim against the righty. Actually, I would have liked to have seen Afthim start inning.

Top 8th, Butler loads the bases with 1 out on a single and 2 walks. A sac fly for the 2nd out gives Butler a 4-3 lead. Coe gets a strikeout to end the inning leaving 2 runners on base.

First two batters walk, and now we have yet another review of a Tammaro bunt.

Can someone smarter than me explain that? It clearly doesn't hit the bat twice, he was in the box, doesn't go in foul territory?
